Handywoman weaving tools are always made from sustainable and responsibly harvested wood and at times from recycled barn woods.

I offer low prices to help promote weaving, giving more people the opportunity to have some of the necessary tools needed without breaking the bank. I use a variety of different species as they come available as well as wood that came from old buildings and barns. All my weaving tools are handmade, not manufactured so keep this in mind. No two items will be exactly alike nor will they look mass produced. My mission is to offer low cost weaving tools and make them the best I can so that you have the tools you deserve.
You will also find other wonderful heirloom collectibles and sewing tools. I'm now carrying beautiful heirloom Chatelaines.
If you want to keep up with new items I'm working on in my shop follow my adventures at www.handywomanshop.blogspot.com
As Handywoman I have been making and selling low cost Weaving tools for 20+ years. I opened my Etsy store in 2007 to reach more weavers, and have enjoyed meeting wonderful Weavers from all over the world.
Be sure to check out bigfam15's for more low cost weaving tools! And if you're into spinning you have to check out JMSwheels handmade spinning wheels, super prices and super wheels! Oh and if you are a new spinner(or old) and wants some great fibers (and how to videos) check out expertlydyed 's shop...wow some really beautiful fibers!!!

Shipping

Shipping:
All items that are not handmade by me ship the following day after order has been placed.
All handmade items in my shop are made based on the order in which the order was received. Production time is an estimate and can take a little longer or a little sooner depending on my work load. I will always work my hardest to get your order out as fast as I am able. Orders are generally started on the following business day after the order was received and depending on work load could ship the next business day. I no longer work weekends, If my workload becomes to much I will shut my shop for a few days and get caught up before taking any new orders. Rest assured I will work diligently to get you your new weaving tool to you. Please keep in mind that after I ship your order I am no longer in control. Shipping delivery times are set by USPS not by me and are not always correct. Packages sometimes will get hung up in transit and will be delayed. I do not do any refunds on packages that have a status of "in transit" or "delivery is delayed" If a package does get lost, rest assured I will remake your order and resend it to you as fast as I possibly can. But I ask for your patients and for you not to get angry with me for something I have no control over.
Thank you.
Janet Fox

Additional policies and FAQs

I will no longer be working weekends. Sorry for the inconvenience. Most items can be custom made using oak or other types of wood. Please convo me for custom orders.
Thanks,
Janet

Frequently asked questions

What kind of bobbins do your shuttle take?

All shuttles except my super slims and inkle shuttles take 4" Schacht Plastic Bobbins (actual size is 4.5") or 4.5" paper quills. Inkle shuttle take a 4.5" paper quill and my super thins take a 6" paper quill. I've been informed that Ashford bobbins also work :) .

Can I request that my shuttle take a longer bobbin?

Yes, but only for Schacht Plastic Bobbins up to 7" actual length. I do not have any other bobbins for testing. Larger bobbins require wider opening so will be slightly more expensive so message me before you place your purchase so I can create a custom listing for you. Also while I will make the rigid long shuttle wider, making it thicker would defeat the purpose of the shuttle. If you'd like the rigid long to accept a larger bobbin know that the bobbin will stick out above the sides of the shuttle.

I'd like my shuttle made in a wood species that is currently sold out. When will you have more?

Contact me and I will see if I have the wood in stock. If I do I can create a custom listing for you. I work everyday to fill sold out stock and fill orders.

I'd like my raddle to have a middle pin.

If you are ordering 1" peg spacing only raddles that are an odd number of inches long (i.e. 37") will have a pin in the middle of the raddle. I also do not stain this pin because I do not want to risk staining your lovely yarn, I will leave it to you how you identify the center pin.
