Established in Love in 1989
Two kids living down the street from each other in West Los Angeles fell in love one summer.
There was a beach cruiser, Rhoda on the handlebars, and a first kiss at Lifeguard Station 27 on Santa Monica Beach.
Before they went their separate ways, Michael wrote Rhoda a note:
“You will go far in life and hopefully I’ll be in the picture, someplace sometime. If we ever drift, find me and hold on tight.”
Then they drifted.
Different cities, countries, continents, breakups, jobs, and long stretches of becoming who they were meant to be.
Twenty years passed.
She found him.
Over one long weekend, they stepped back into something that had been waiting.
Seventeen years later, they’ve made a life in many places, raised a son, and are still making things side by side.
Happy and Pappy is one of those things.
It is our little family-run shop for the things we make, find, collect, and dream up: printed goods, stickers, t-shirts, curated vintage clothing, small objects, seasonal drops, and occasional treasures that feel like they have a story attached to them.
Some things are made to order. Some things are found. Some are funny. Some are sentimental. Some are just here because they made us smile.
Home has always been each other.
And we’re still holding on tight.
