Greg has given light and life to a remembered Magnolia through this rich and impressive painting! Yellow undertones, covered with a bath of rich greens and dark blues, let hinted colors shine through, a bold, beautiful work, and a fitting tribute to a sweet tree. Thank you, Greg, as always, beyond words, Ellen

Beautiful piece - absolutely in love with this one. We wake up every morning to what we consider a glorious sunrise. Thanks Greg.

When Greg paints a forest, you feel that you can walk right into it. This amazing painting will inspire me through an isolated COVID-19 winter. I will gaze at this beautiful woods, and pretend I'm there. Thank you Greg, for another stunning painting!
From crayons to clients and beyond
Drawing has been a part of me since before I can remember. On rainy days especially, I would ask my mom, "What should I draw"? She would always give me an assignment. My tools at the time were pencils, and lined, three hole punched theme paper. Who can say, maybe that's where my attachment to the horizontal got it's start.
I grew into an aspiring artist, by actually taking myself seriously. I took as many art classes I could in high school, ultimately attending and graduating with honors from Layton School of Art at Milwaukee Wisconsin.
I also grew into an outdoorsman. I spent much of my boyhood, summer and winter, roaming the fields, woods and streams near my home in southern Wisconsin. It was only natural that I would combine these two passions by entertaining myself by pursuing landscape painting.
A career in advertising illustration became a reality upon graduation from art school. That career blossomed, providing me and my family a comfortable living for over forty years. Through all those years I indulged myself with landscape painting. Since my retirement from commissioned assignments, I devote all my energy to my landscapes. It is without doubt the most rewarding and creatively satisfying part of my life as an artist.
