Art and design background leads to selling antiques and vintage items.

With a BFA from The School of The Art Institute of Chicago and a Postgrad from Oxford, I've put my design and art history background into selling unique antique & vintage items. The Hartong International collection is handpicked, offering carefully preserved original antiques, and vintage typewriters refurbished to perfection. A great deal of time is spent in auctions and estates, finding the right items for the collection. My focus is on very early rustic bespoke antique furniture from around New England, vintage industrial technology, silver decor items and sterling accessories. I love early mechanical devices, including 1930s typewriters, and early antique telephones.

We offer antiques, fine art, decor items and vintage technology. All items we offer are handled with the utmost care, while maintaining originality. Most of our collection comes from Europe and North America.

Every item we sell is carefully evaluated, handled and described in great detail. When you purchase an item from our store, it will be professionally packaged, shipped and tracked. We like to get to know our customers, so if you have any questions, we're always happy to answer your request. If you require any special or expedited shipping arrangements, please feel free to ask.

Because of the nature of these items, unless they arrive damaged or defective, I can't accept returns for:
  • Custom or personalized orders
  • Perishable products (like food or flowers)
  • Digital downloads
  • Intimate items (for health/hygiene reasons)
Returns and exchange details
We do offer refunds, in the unlikely event an item arrives damaged on US domestic shipments only. International shipments have different rules. There are no refunds on international orders, and in the unlikely event an item arrives damaged, we can assist the buyer with claiming the insurance on a shipment. All packaging must be kept for inspection by the carrier, and you must provide photos. All items above $50.00 ship fully insured within the United States, so you have peace of mind.

We insure items for the total sale price, so in the unlikely event an item is lost or damaged, a refund from the carrier will be provided. Claims for damaged shipments can take a bit of time to be refunded due to carrier verification. It is important to be in contact with us promptly, as we can arrange for the carrier to inspect a damaged item in a timely manner. Once the carrier issues a refund on a claim, we will then refund you. This applies to US domestic shipments only. On international shipments, the buyer will have to file a claim directly with the carrier in their home country, and we will assist by providing photos of the item as it was packaged and sent. We will also assist an international buyer with providing documentation on the item.

We do offer insurance on international orders, but Hartong International does not claim responsibility for damage or loss caused by the postal carrier(s). Although, we take every possible precaution and package items properly for international shipments. Hartong International packages international bound items with extra care, so you have peace of mind, and we take photos of the item as it's being packaged for shipment. At an additional cost we offer insurance on international items sent by UPS, USPS and FedEx.
Payment
We expect payment(s) within three days of the sale date. We are flexible on payment methods, but the use of PayPal or direct credit card payment through Etsy is encouraged. You can send checks and money orders, if you must. We can take a credit card over the phone, and accept all major credit cards.

A 6.25% sales tax applies to sales shipped within Massachusetts.

All sales are final.
Shipping
All shipped items are properly packaged, so you receive your items in the same condition as when they leave our studio. Most items ship with insurance, so you have added peace of mind! All items above $50.00 automatically ship fully insured. All packaging needs to be kept in the unlikely event an item gets damaged in transit. No packaging, no insurance claim, no refund. Please make sure to hold onto all packaging materials until you have inspected your item. See below for international shipping.

Most items ship within three business days of payment received in full. On large items or custom bespoke items, shipping times may vary. Please be in contact if you are ordering larger furnishings or custom/bespoke items.

Items can be picked up at our studio by appointment. We offer delivery on larger items throughout New England and some northern boroughs of the New York City area. Additional delivery fees apply. Please be in contact before purchasing an item, if you require a home delivery by Hartong International.

We also work with freight carriers on larger items, and will help you find the lowest and safest freight carriers to deliver your item. On items sent by freight, close communication is essential with you to assure a shipment goes as planned.

On internationally shipped items, we do not guarantee items against loss, damage or items held up in customs. Once an item leaves our possession, the merchandise is completely out of our control. Buyer takes full responsibility for the risk of damage, loss or customs issues and any duties due in your country. There is also no refund for shipping charges, in the unlikely event an item is damaged during international shipment. For peace of mind, Items over $50.- ship with insurance through the USPS. We provide the tracking/customs form number on shipments and it's usually posted on PayPal. If you do not receive a customs form number through PayPal, it will be messaged to you after shipment. The customs form which is attached to your item at the time of delivery, will show the information for making an insurance claim. All packaging needs to be kept in order to make a claim, otherwise you cannot make a claim with the carrier. Buyer is responsible for initiating an insurance claim, but we will provide you with pictures of the item as it left our possession and the packaging used.
