Hatchvillepottery's Shop Announcement

I make high-fired functional stoneware pots here on Cape Cod - mugs, cups, bowls, vases, teapots, plates and platters. I started making pots more than 20 years ago at the Art League school in Alexandria, Va. I studied with Joyce Inderbitzen and Dennis Davis, but I worked most with Dan Finnegan, an English-trained functional potter in Fredericksburg, Va. I studied and fired a wood kiln with Finnegan for about five years, before leaving Virginia for Cape Cod. My influences come from 20th century English studio pottery, but also from Japanese and Korean work of the past several hundred years. Many of my glazes - dark Temmoku, varied Shino, milky Nuka - originated in Japan. I often overlap glazes to add life to a pot. All my work can be used for food or drink or flowers.
