This agate has great color and a good, solid, fortified pattern. I do not have many agates with green, so that is a good characteristic. A friend liked it so much, he is buying half of it - the smaller half, of course.

Ships fast and cabochon was exactly what I needed for a custom jewelry order.

About

Let's face it, I just love rocks!

The bottom line is, I love rocks and fossils! I love finding them. I love collecting them, and now I love cutting them. I've been casually collecting rocks as long as I can remember.

I've got a wonderful family and a couple of rescue dogs with 'issues'. I also have a cat that keeps watch over me from her high perch on a shelf whenever I am polishing stones. I find cutting rocks very relaxing, almost like meditation. I'm usually only at my machine late at night or in the mornings on weekends before driving one of the kids to a sporting event.

I don't cut stones all the time, I really need to feel like cutting. Sometimes I won't cut any cabs for a couple weeks and then I'll get inspired and cut 10 at a time. I don't make cabochons just to make them. Sometimes a slab will sit around for months before I "see" something in it. Other times I know what I'll cut as soon as I see the slab. I keep some of the stones I cut for myself, but I'm running out of places to keep them. All of my cabochons, even the ones for sale, are kept in Riker mounts so I can look at them all the time.

What else do you want to know about me? I'm a PhD microbiologist at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta. My hobbies revolve around rock and fossil collecting. I'm from Louisville, KY and I've lived in Lexington, KY, Iowa City, IA and now Atlanta, GA. I used to breed snakes and lizards as a hobby and I traveled all over the midwest to sell them at snake shows. Selling stones on Etsy is much easier, the stones don't get hungry and they don't bite!
If you want to know anything else just convo me.

Shop policies

Welcome to my shop! First and foremost this is a hobby for me and not a full-time job so I can price competitively. Everything on theses pages was cut and polished by me here in Georgia and not mass-produced in Asia.
I have 3 goals in mind for my shop: 1) Sell enough to keep my hobby self sustaining; 2) Save enough money to take a silversmithing class; 3) Keep my customers happy so that they return.
I'm a perfectionist at heart and try to provide only the best possible pieces. If there is ever a problem, please contact me to work it out. I will accept returns up to 7 days and I will pay all costs if by some remote chance a piece is broken in transit. Please, please contact me if you are not satisfied for any reason.

Accepted payment methods

  • Pay with Visa
  • Pay with Master Card
  • Pay with American Express
  • Pay with Discover
  • Pay with PayPal
  • Buy with Apple Pay
  • Pay with Sofort
  • Pay with iDeal
  • Accepts Etsy gift cards
Payment
I currently accept paypal, Etsy gift certificates and credit cards through direct checkout.

I am willing to reserve a piece for up to three weeks.
Shipping
I usually ship within 1-2 days, always by USPS first class and always with delivery confirmation in the US so you can track the shipment. If you need something sooner, let me know before purchase and I can calculate the cost and change the shipping on the item. For domestic items I only charge for the first item, it doesn't cost me any more to put a number of items in the same package.
Refunds and Exchanges
As I said above, returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery for any reason. If a piece arrives damaged, send me a photo and I will refund all costs and pay for return shipping.
Additional policies and FAQs
I try to price my cabochons competitively but you'll notice that some are priced a bit higher. This is either because the cost of the raw material was higher, or the cab is one of my favorites and I don't mind keeping it around.
