About

I have a passion for creating beautiful things from beautiful fabrics.

At the age of 12, I watched my mother make a dress. Then she watched me make one, gently guiding me along the way. I have been sewing ever since, making everything from children's clothing to wedding gowns.

When my neighbor, who is an OR nurse, asked me to make her a hat, it was indeed a pleasure. I had the opportunity to select beautiful fabrics and experiment with styling until I created what she was looking for, a beautiful, comfortable surgical hat. One of her concerns was the damage done to her hair from all cotton hats. That is when I introduced to her the idea of lining the hat with polyester. She loved it!

When her co-workers started asking for my hats, I knew I was on to something. Many months later after countless hours spent designing other styles and having them "field tested" at local hospitals, I decided to open an Etsy shop.

If you see a fabric you like but it's not in your style, I will be glad to make your style if the fabric is available.

I come from the "old school" where the customer is King and should be treated like royalty.

The following items can't be returned or exchanged
Because of the nature of these items, unless they arrive damaged or defective, I can't accept returns for:
  • Custom or personalized orders
  • Perishable products (like food or flowers)
  • Digital downloads
  • Intimate items (for health/hygiene reasons)
My goal is to make you a happy customer. I will do most anything within reason to accomplish that goal. If your order has had sufficient time to be delivered but has not arrived, please check the tracking information. Don't hesitate to contact me if you need assistance. If delivery cannot be confirmed I will be glad to work with you to resolve any problem within my ability to do so.

Please notify me within 14 days from the time you receive your order if you need to make an exchange or request a refund. Buyer pays for return shipping.

When adjustments are made to sizing, or custom color combinations are made, all sales are final.
Payment
PayPal and direct check out. If using PayPal, please check your address for accuracy. If there is a discrepancy it could cause a delay in shipment.
Shipping
I use USPS First Class with tracking numbers. Because of the increase in sales most hats will be made to order. I will do my best to ship your order as quickly as possible. If it is going to be longer than the specified time, I will let you know.

First Class shipping does not guarantee delivery by a certain day. The days posted are the usual shipping times if there are no delays. If you need your order in a hurry, you may purchase the shipping upgrade listing for Priority.

If tracking shows your order has been delivered but you have not received it, you will need to contact your local USPS.

Generally I will insure orders over $40.00 that are shipped in the USA.

Because of the high cost on international shipping I cannot be held responsible for undelivered items. Once an order has been shipped it is no longer under my control. I do not have access to additional information outside what the tracking provides. That does not mean I will not exhaust all efforts to resolve any problems that may occur within my ability to do so. Please make sure all information is correct when placing an order. Buyer is responsible for paying any additional tariffs or fees.
Additional policies and FAQs
I of course, can't be responsible for how you care for your hats. I pay attention to detail when making them and sew them knowing they will under go some pretty tough treatment during the course of your normal work day. I double stitch stress points, turn or serge raw edges and top stitch to give strength where needed.

All fabrics are preshrunk before cutting.

I recommend machine wash cold, delicate cycle, tumble dry low or hang to dry.

Elastic is usually the first thing to wear out. This is most often caused by high heat from the dryer than from normal wear. With a little care, your Headlids scrub hat should last a very long time.

Orders of 8 or more hats may take longer to complete than the posted shipping times. Please give me extra time if placing a large order. Thanks.
