About

Creating bridal headpieces and accessories is my passion!

I have been designing and creating clothing and accessories ever since I was a very little girl.

After graduating from college as an apparel design major (with fun classes in theater costuming), I began working in the garment industry as a retail buyer, designer, merchandiser, and division head. My crazy, busy, career sent me traveling around the world creating clothing for retail chains and garment manufacturers.

I really did love my job but, after almost eighteen years of this very demanding lifestyle, I wanted to spend more time with my family. In an effort to simplify my life, I started a small design business from home. Having always loved my theater costuming experiences, I gravitated towards weddings which are, after all, personalized theatrical events!

Since 1992 I have worked with hundreds of brides in the New York metropolitan area creating customized handcrafted headpieces and accessories. I rather quickly outgrew my home office so, in 1995 I opened a wedding specialty boutique in Bergen County, New Jersey. The Sequin Garden was a lovely little shop that specialized in ready-made and custom-designed headpieces and flowers, as well as a huge array of accessories, invitations, and favors.

Through both advertising and a vast word-of-mouth network, we quickly became recognized and sought after for both our custom designs and personalized service.

Unfortunately, nothing is ever perfect. To my dismay, I again found myself in a situation that kept me away from my family. In 2000 I decided to close the shop and move my business online so that I could once again work from my home studio…the best decision I could have ever made!

My wedding website is HeadpieceHeaven.com. I later added VintageBridalJewelry.com to offer my customized wedding jewelry designs and OOAK vintage assemblage pieces.

My Etsy shop was added to my business in 2014 and I recently added my “Sequin Garden” Etsy shop to sell my non-wedding assemblage jewelry.

Returns and exchanges
I gladly accept returns and exchanges

The following items can't be returned or exchanged
Because of the nature of these items, unless they arrive damaged or defective, I can't accept returns for:
  • Custom or personalized orders
  • Perishable products (like food or flowers)
  • Digital downloads
  • Intimate items (for health/hygiene reasons)
  • Items on sale

Custom and made to order items are made just for you and are not returnable.
If you have any questions please check the listing for "Custom Made" or ask before purchasing.

For sanitary reasons, earrings are also not returnable.

We occasionally run sales based on a minimum purchase requirement. Please understand that items bought at a discount during our special sales will not be returnable.

Because our sample sale items are highly discounted, they are also not returnable.

Please choose carefully and please ask as many questions as you need to.

Stock items and pre-made pieces are returnable or exchangeable but we do have a strict policy.
We allow a 3 day inspection period after you have received it. (We have the tracking information so we will know when it has been received.).

You will need to email us for a return authorization within 3 days of receiving your order and ship the piece back to us within 3 days of receiving the authorization.
Our full policy on how to handle returns will also be included with your shipment.

Once we receive your return we will credit your account the same day minus the actual original shipping costs.

Please note that items must be returned to us in their original condition. Damaged items will incur a restocking fee or, depending upon the condition they are in, may not be refunded.

Returns will not be accepted if they are shipped after your wedding date.

It is strongly recommended that returns are sent back carefully packaged and with insurance. We will not refund a returned item if it is lost in the mail.

If you have any questions in regards to this policy, please ask before placing your order.
Payment
We accept Paypal, all major credit cards and Etsy Gift cards.
Pre-made items will ship within 48 hours of your payment being received.
Custom items will be shipped within the time-frame indicated in the item description.

We can sometimes offer rush orders. Please ask if you need a rush order because we will be very happy to help you if we can!
Shipping
We use USPS Priority (The US Postal Service) for all items within the US. All shipments are tracked and insured for your protection as well as ours. Shipments normally are received within 2-3 days. Insured packages will need to be signed for.

We ship to most countries. We use USPS Express (The US Postal Service) for all international shipments. All shipments are tracked and insured. Shipments normally are received within 3-5 days. We are not permitted to insure international packages to certain countries for more than $200.00. In the rare event of a problem (it has never happened) we are only responsible for the insured amount. If you have any concerns please contact us before making your purchase.

**** INTERNATIONAL BUYERS - PLEASE NOTE that the Buyer is responsible for any and all import duties and customs charges that your country may charge.
Our listing prices are for the item and the actual shipping costs only.
IMPORT CHARGES INCURRED BY YOUR COUNTRY ARE NOT INCLUDED IN OUR LISTED PRICES.
Please check with your country's customs office prior to purchasing to determine what these additional costs will be.

(If you request a shipment without tracking or insurance, please understand that we will not be responsible in the unlikely event that the package is lost or damaged.)

Orders will ship to the address listed on your account.
Please understand that it is your responsibility to ensure that we are given the correct address. Items will not be refunded if they are shipped to the wrong address.
You will be expected to re-purchase your order if you would like it sent out again.
Additional policies and FAQs
HOW WE WORK ON CUSTOM DESIGNS

If we are creating a new design for you, I will work very closely with you to be sure that you are comfortable with the process and happy with the end result.

If there is any question regarding bead colors we can arrange for a bead sample package. This will cost between $5.00- $15.00, depending upon the number of beads and method of shipment, and will be credited to your order when you purchase a headpiece.

After we have submitted designs and you have decided what you would like to order, we require a 50% non-refundable deposit before we order parts or begin any work on your piece.
I will show you pictures at a halfway point in the production for your approval and, at that point, the balance will be due. I have been creating custom pieces for brides for over 20 years…this process has always worked well!

If the custom design is just like our pictures, this process will not be necessary and the payment will be due in full before we begin the work on your order.

Veils are also made to order and need to be paid in full before we create them.
If there is any question about tulle or lace colors you can purchase a sample card for $15.00 including shipping. If you later purchase a veil the $15.00 charge will be applied towards your purchase.

We will not be responsible for custom orders that have been abandoned for 3 months after the wedding date on your invoice or, in the case that we have no record of your wedding date, if we haven't been able to contact you for 3 months.
If we receive no response from email attempts to contact you, your deposits and items will be forfeited.


RESERVING OUR LISTINGS

Many of my listings are one-of-a-kind styles. I am very happy to work with you if you need something put on hold for a few days. However please understand that I can not hold a listing for more than 72 hours.



FREE LAYAWAY PAYMENT PLAN

Purchases over $250.00 are eligible for our layaway program.

How does it work?

Purchases over $250.00 require a 20% deposit and purchases over $500.00 require a 10% deposit, but the balance of the payment plan will be up to you.
Choose the item(s) you want to purchase and send me a message with your suggestions on how much you would like to pay in each installment, and if you prefer weekly, bi-weekly or monthly payments. We will work out a special layaway plan personally for you.

After we have worked out your payment plan, I will add the details of your payment schedule to your private listing. You can then add the listing to your cart, go to the checkout, and be sure to mark your payment method as "OTHER". Doing this will reserve your item without charging you. I will send you a separate invoice for your payment allowing you to make your payment using Visa, Mastercard, American Express, or Paypal. We do not accept personal checks.
We will require a valid email address to process your payment invoice.

If you do not make a payment on time, but still wish to hold your item, please let me know. I am very flexible and we can work it out together.

If I do not hear from you within 30 days of your missed payment, and can't contact you, I will assume that you no longer want to hold the item on layaway. The item(s) will be returned to my shop and all payments to date will be forfeited.

Our standard policy for made to order custom designs is that no work will begin until 50% is paid. Your order will not be shipped until after the total amount, including shipping fees, has been paid.

Our regular return policy does not apply to layaway purchases. If you decide to cancel or return your purchase, please understand that we need to charge a restocking fee of 20% of the purchase price on pre-made items, and 50% on custom and made to order items. You will be reimbursed for any payments made, minus these fees and minus the actual original shipping costs.
