Sharing Christmas Spirit and My Joy of Creating
I have worn many hats throughout my "professional" career, but finally at 40-something, figured out what I want to be when I grow up. I love Christmas, creating, and collecting stories. Through Heartfelt Stockings, I have found a way to indulge in all three by making custom, handmade, heirloom quality stockings to share with families around the world.
Each stocking starts with a concept, vision, or custom request. I sketch out my ideas (sometimes with the help of my wonderfully artistic husband), and begin putting it all together...with felt, sequins, button, beads, almost anything....to create unique stockings. My designs tell a story, and an unexpected joy in this new adventure has been all the wonderful stories I have collected through my stockings...new babies (sometimes photographed IN their Heartfelt Stocking), new couples, grandchildren. It is inspiring to be a small part of so many family Christmas memories, and to continue the legacy of my Mom, who taught me so much, including how to sew.
