The tote is a nice, thick, fabric, but the shoulder straps are short enough that it makes carrying it a little awkward.

About

We are commited to making something new from something old

My mother was of the depression age who was very creative and taught me how to make something new from something old. When it came time to clear out my parents home I found a treasure in every linen I found. I asked myself did mom make this? Or did grandma make this? I was very attached to the memory of my mother who taught me to look be creative and make something useful from something old. She taught me how to look at objects in a different way. When it came time for me to part with some of the linens I realized that other people are looking for the memories from someone they love.
I was making a nice little hobby where I earned a little bit of money from my Etsy shop. Over time my mind was thinking about creating new objects from something old. This went along with my belief in recycling and reusing things rather than throwing them away. I decided to take some of the linens that I have and repurpose them for new things.
Part three of the story I give credit to my husband. He recently retired and was looking for something to do. One day when I was in the fabric shop, he came with me and became absolutely enthralled with an embroidery machine. The fact that it was computerized was even better!. So we decided to add that piece to my shop and are now making simple quilts with machine embroidery. We incorporate vintage linens and fabric into every quilt we make. We also very thrilled to announce the ability to create a stitched picture from a digital picture. These quilts are what I call memory quilts for we can add a picture or pictures right on the quilt fabric. I thought of this idea because my father had Alzheimer's and I thought what a wonderful gift to give somebody. Many people in nursing homes are in wheelchairs and they enjoy having a small quilt to keep them warm. Wouldn't it be terrific to have a picture of their family on their quilt?
