Welcome to my Etsy shop. I specialize in wire-wrapped jewelry, handcrafted with natural, semiprecious gemstones, fossils, meteorites and genuine Swarovski crystal. Shoppers can expect swift, accurate order fulfillment and friendly customer service. We respond to all questions and inquiries in 24 hours or less and expedited shipping is available on everything.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
PLEASE BE ADVISED- I am currently grappling with exceedingly long wait times for custom design work. I can still accommodate changes to small, reproducible items (available in quantities greater than 1) that do not involve design work (i.e., wire, gemstone and color changes) but I am no longer able to accept requests for DESIGN changes. Therefore, selection is limited to styles that ALREADY EXIST in my shop for the time being. Thank-you for understanding

About

"Yes, I made it all myself."

It's hard to believe everything started with pocket change and a few packets of stone chip beads from the local dollar store, but that is exactly how it happened. I started making jewelry as a way to cope with what was going on in my personal life. I had been seriously ill for nearly a decade and the toll taken on the professional, social and financial aspects of my life were undeniable. Despite having my health restored, high medical costs left me deeply in debt and rampant discrimination in my chosen profession left me few prospects. I needed something to occupy my mind while I recovered from the trauma. I moved back in with my parents feeling like a complete failure.

My mother had given me a package of stone pendants she found at the local dollar store and she mentioned how there were also some stone beads there as well. I tagged along on the next trip and decided to purchase a few of those packets. I began, as most jewelry artists do, with simple, stone chip bracelets, earrings and necklaces. My first “studio” was little more than a folding table, set up at the end of a couch in my parents’ rec room. As awful as things were, I always felt better when I made jewelry and as the months wore on, we found more places to shop for supplies. Walmart had stone beads in their craft section, JoAnn's had even more (across the border from our home in Sault Ste. Marie, MI) and the Internet offered a veritable cornucopia of materials! I also did my first craft show in Sault Ste. Marie, MI and my mother came with me. We didn't know it at the time, but the Sault High Christmas Craft Show was one of the biggest shows in our area and it gave me quite an education! There I was with my makeshift racks, scavenged from our household and we were next to serious artisans who had clearly been doing shows for years. I had a lot to learn.

My mother continued to be my biggest supporter as I grew my tiny business. She came with me to shows, celebrated with me each time my jewelry made it into a new store and helped me plan to pay down debts with my earnings. Making jewelry was starting to change my life. I slowly began to acquire the trappings of being a real business as I built up my show display, added tools and materials to my growing studio (which moved into part of a storage room in my parents’ basement), got my business license and started selling online. I knew I’d crossed the line between hobbyist and entrepreneur when I began to see other local artists as “competitors” and got into wire-wrapping as a way to make my pieces stand out from theirs. That’s when things really started to take off.

Locally, my Tree of Life pendants were a huge success and I soon branched out into other aspects of wire-work. I amassed a collection of books, tutorials and videos as I diversified my technical repertoire and gradually began introducing more exotic materials that appealed to my scientific tastes, such as meteorites, tektites, fossils and various crystals (incl. bismuth). I continued to do well at local craft shows but soon realized that if I remained in my hometown, there would be limits imposed on my growth. I started making plans to move out on my own again—and to leave Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.

3 years after the journey began, I moved into an apartment of my own in Toronto; complete with a large studio space so I could work from home to support myself. It is from this space, I write to you now. It’s been a long and difficult journey, but I’m proud of what I have accomplished. I can hardly wait to see where I am 3 years from now…

Frequently asked questions
Do you have any discounts or upcoming sales?

I make every effort to price my pieces competitively from the start, based on the quality of materials and time/labor invested since I make each and every item in my shop myself, by-hand, one at a time. So I don't hold sales.

However I do have discounts on shipping multiple items. It costs the same amount to ship 1 item as it does to ship 100, so long as everything is shipping to the same destination.

How do you ship my order?

Orders destined for the USA ship by US Postal Service from Niagara Falls, NY, USA.

Orders destined for Canada/overseas ship by Canada Post from Toronto, Canada.

Everything will arrive in your regular mail. Shipping options (for expediting or adding international tracking) are available in your shopping cart during checkout.

The default shipping setting in your cart is the cheapest shipping method available to your destination.

What if I want to buy something in a quantity greater than the number shown on the listing?

In some cases, I may have more items available than the listing indicates. This is particularly true for made-to-order items where I'm likely to have a stockpile in storage that hasn't been counted and added to the listing yet.

If you would like to order more of something than the quantity allows, contact me and ask. Most of the time, I can simply adjust the number and you can check out your desired quantity right away.

Where are you REALLY located?

My studio is located in Toronto, Canada but I am able to ship from the US through a service that takes my packages across the border & mails them there. This is why tracking on US-bound orders originates in Niagara Falls, NY instead of Toronto, Canada.

Can I return something if I don't like it/it doesn't fit?

In most cases, absolutely! There are just 2 exceptions-- piercings (i.e., earrings that go through a piercing) and custom jewelry.

We cannot accept returns on earrings for hygienic reasons. We have no way of knowing if a piercing has been worn previously unless it is a brand new item. All piercings I sell are new and unworn.

I cannot accept returns on anything that has been customized. This includes any jewelry that has been altered in a specific way at the customer's request from it's original form. This does not include drop-down menu selections already present on the listings.

All other items (including one-of-a-kind, ready-to-ship items) may be returned within the parameters of our return policy.

I live in/near Toronto. Can I pick it up in-person?

Absolutely! Just contact me and we can arrange a time for you to come pick up your order.

I do not accept cash or cheques at the door, however and I cannot allow visitors into my studio for security reasons. All orders must be pre-paid here on Etsy and I can immediately refund any shipping costs charged.

What's your policy on multiple repeat returns from a single buyer?

To protect our customers from unfair price increases, we do track shoppers who repeatedly buy and return items, a form of return fraud known as "wardrobing". This shop isn't a rental service. If a buyer repeatedly buys and returns multiple items without explanation, we may choose not to serve them again in the future, in which case subsequent transactions will be refunded and canceled promptly without shipping.

Placing Items On-Hold/Layaway

Due to limited quantities, (most pieces are one-of-a-kind) we are UNABLE TO RESERVE ITEMS that have not been paid for IN-FULL.

However, I am happy to hold items that HAVE been paid for and delay shipping, if you think you may wish to add more items to your order and have everything ship together. Please contact me if you wish to have me hold your paid order while you browse other items.

Any additional shipping charges incurred by subsequent transactions will be refunded (in cases where multiple items can be packed together and ship to the same destination).
