These paintings are my way of discovering and manifesting joy. I work in abstract painting which is liberating - I am focused on relationships between color, shape, texture, layer - building up and stripping away. Creativity is a wild, silky quality that can't be tamed or manipulated. You can't look at it head-on but more from the side, like a wild animal and get out of the way while the process unfolds.

When I'm working on a new series, I put pieces up all around the studio and house so that when I come around the corner or go up the stairs, my eye catches on something new. I love that feeling - at first glance my mind stops and then I start to notice the interaction of color, texture, shape. It is invigorating and refreshing when our eyes rest on something fresh, something vibrating with life. Original paintings (even if they are small) are like treasures that continue to transmit their magic over the years.

You can be assured that each painting is hand crafted: layered, layered, stripped, layered and so on until it announces it is finished. Each piece is therefore totally unique.

As a mother of two small boys, running a household and working - as busy as it gets I know that everything is more balanced when I paint. I'm happy! My family is happier and a deep breath of happiness goes out into the world too.
