During the (hopefully) last snowfall this week, I spent the day creating a pair of statement rings that embody the feeling of winter. Icy stones in grey and white, and beautifully oxidized and textured silver, with beautiful snowflake details on the band.
Rebirth necklace. Limited edition, and last one available in this style. Copper imprinted with a real cicada wing, adorned with sterling silver, rustic citrine gemstone and peacock pearl, and beautifully oxidized to highlight the depth and texture.

It's a matter of sanity...

I am a hobby jewelry designer with a special interest in metalworking. I've been selling my designs on Etsy since 2012, when I decided that I wanted to have something in my life that wasn't "work". I picked up some wire and read some books, and my new hobby was born. I began making jewelry for friends and family, and welcomed them to challenge me with custom requests. I was winging it, and it felt GREAT. I was instantly addicted to the feeling of accomplishment when someone actually liked my creations. I decided to take some jewelry fabrication classes at a local studio, and after gaining a little bit of confidence and a lot of new metalworking skills, I decided to open my online shop. Etsy seemed like the perfect venue for Heather's Handcrafted Jewelry.
By day I am a Registered Veterinary Technician, working as a nurse manager in a fast paced emergency and referral hospital. While my day job does not allow much time for creativity, I spend many "vacations" taking metalworking classes and learning new techniques. I have turned my basement into a home studio, and at least one day a week, I shut out the rest of the world and spend hours in the studio learning and playing. While I LOVE the career I have chosen, I find that playing with fire and wielding a hammer is exactly what I need to unwind. I turn up the music and let go...no rules, no protocols, just creating from the heart. This is my therapy. It's my release. No matter how much I swear, and how scarred and bruised I am when I emerge from the studio, I come out HAPPY! I love to document my work from start to finish, as I want to show that everything is made by my hands. You can follow my creative process on my Facebook page (www.facebook.com/heathershandcrafted).
My style is a bit eclectic, which you can tell by the variety of jewelry styles that I create. I have always had a love for gemstones, and like to try to incorporate natural stones into my designs whenever possible. I draw inspiration from nature, and love to manipulate metal in different ways that still appear natural. I have yet to find my "niche" where jewelry fabrication is concerned, and I love learning new things so much that I doubt that I ever will. I don't want to be tied to one style. I want to walk into the studio and make what I feel. Everything I create is the result of something that I wanted to try...even if it is just one time. That makes every piece unique- truly one of a kind.
I am happy to consider any custom requests, and would love to help design a piece that is uniquely you- please just convo me with your ideas!

I love to create rustic and earthy designs. I enjoy wire wrapping, but my true love is metalsmithing. My designs are a bit eclectic, and often never repeated. You can rest assured that all pieces are unique in some way.

Shop policies

Welcome to my shop. All of my designs are crafted by hand from brass, copper, and silver sheet metal and wire, and natural stones. Jewelry is my hobby, and not my "job". I produce my pieces in my spare time, and therefore do not produce large quantities. Feel free to contact me to request a custom item if you are interested in having a piece in a different size, are interested in one that has already sold, or would like me to design something special for you. I hope you enjoy your shopping experience!

Refunds and Exchanges
I have done my very best to describe each item in detail, and to capture the details of the items in my photos. Please keep in mind that every aspect of my designs are handmade. They are not mass produced by a machine, and therefore there may be slight differences in textures or patterns. If the item you receive is not the quality you expected, please contact me, and we can discuss how to rectify the problem. This may involve adapting the design to meet your expectations, or, under special circumstances, a return for refund (less the cost of shipping).
