On Etsy since 2018

It all begins with sketching ideas. I always sketch by hand, so my lines are typically me.
For rendering sketches I use my Macbook and a Wacom Intuos drawing pad.
I work on lines in Photoshop. When I'm coloring, I use a lot of clipping masks. Always in blue:)
Finishing an image usually takes me around 10 hours. Then it's ready for print.
I always pack my art prints carefully. With a sturdy sleeve, 2 cardboard sheets and an air cushion envelop.

My artwork is about the relationships we have with each other and ourselves.

Hello, welcome in my shop! I hope you enjoy browsing my drawings and prints. I am Helma Speksnijder, a freelance illustrator and artist from the Netherlands. After I graduated and got my Bachelor in Arts, I worked as an art teacher and Middle School manager. In 2016 years ago I started drawing and illustrating again, while was recovering from a major depression, and I just can’t stop anymore :) In 2018 I opened my shop here on Etsy. I also love doing custom work and editorial illustration. I have 3 girls and a very sweet and funny husband. I love doing yoga, reading, biking, hugs and a lot of introverting :)
