FAQ:
Do you do custom orders or portraits?
Yes, please see my custom orders section for more information!

How do you make your art?
Typically just a pen and paper - I prefer ink because of the starkness and boldness, which I can't get with a pencil. I typically don't start with an idea at all - it just morphs into something with shape and character and takes on its own meaning or significance.

Your art is often very dark, or even kind of creepy. Why?
I've always felt very much OK with bizarre and unusual things, and I discovered in art classes that I became frustrated being asked to draw vases or furniture all the time. Granted, those can be wonderful subjects, but I think that there is a lot of beauty and power in things that we are uncomfortable or unfamiliar with - objects and concepts we are socially conditioned to not pay too much attention to (or even avoid!)

Is there a message to any of your pieces?
Yes and no. Some things are obvious to me, but I feel a little condescending if I don't leave anything to the buyer or observer. I equate it to adopting a new cat from the shelter - maybe you'll go with the shelter's chosen name "Cupcake," or maybe you personally feel like tabs is more of a "Spike."
