The handmade Poe model I received is truly an exceptionally crafted writing instrument at a price well below what similarly made pens of this caliber would cost. The Alumilite material used for this pen is beautiful; it's been turned and polished perfectly to bring out the depth and chatoyance of the multiple tones. The threading and joints were made to exacting tolerances for smooth operation and durability. Arguably the most important part of a fountain pen is the writing, and this pen functions perfectly: the Jowo nib unit was a smooth writer out of the box and required no tuning. The included converter fits as snuggly as if it were threaded, and the pen draws ink when filling as effectively as any piston filler, and produces a consistently wet line through to the last bit of ink in the feed. A five star fountain pen!

This fountain pen is really beautiful! The fine nib is smooth and perfect. I am impressed with the size of both the pen and the nib. Alumilite makes it feel warm in the hand and keeps the weight right. It's just the right size for my arthritic hand and is relaxing to use. The gun metal clip is nicely understated and doesn't compete with the design in the acrylic. I think this one looks best in bright light where all of the colors shine.
