Frequently asked questions

Packaging

I am using as few packaging as possible and as environmental friendly as possible. Which means, that at the moment I am using shipping bags made out of biological synthetic matieral that is compostable and made out of renewable materials.

This is also why I use adhesive tape also made out of recycled paper.

If you order more than 3 skeins of yarn from me, I will use cardboard boxes for shipping, that are either re-used or also made from recycled materials.

I mostly won't use wrapping tissue or plastic adhesive tape to package your order, because I want to keep the shipping costs as low as possible.

For Germans:
Von der Rücknahmepflicht der Verpackungsverordnung (§ 6) durch §16 Verpackungsverordnung befreites Verpackungsmaterial.

Care instructions

Project Bags:

I am using mostly 100% cotton fabrics for my project bags, but also interfacing. This is why I recommend either to handwash your project bags, or to wash it in the washing machine on low (max. 40°C) and on "Delicate" cycle.

Yarn:

I always recommend hand-washing your handknit items - with lukewarm water and a little bit of wool wash. Taking good care for your handknits just makes them wear and look nice so much longer.

But if you are buying superwash yarn from me, it is also possible to wash your handknits out of this yarn (for the moment my "Hazel Soft Sock" and "Oak Sock" yarn bases) in the washing machine (max. 40°C, wool cylce).

But first wash: always hand-wash!

Customs information

If I am sending an order to a country where I need to fill out the customs form, I won't mark it as a gift or lower the value. I will always fill them out for what you really ordered and to the real prize points. If you are getting charged to pay custom fees, I'm not responsible for those.

Shipping costs and refunds

I have recently changed my way of handling shipping costs! The more orders I get (YAY!), the more I noticed that handling the shipping of orders eats up a lot of my time that I could spend dyeing more yarn.

This is why international orders now only cost 6.20 Euros plus 0.10 Euro for each additional item!! (Orders from Germany: 4.80 Euros plus 0.10 Euro for each additional item!)

With the settings I chose, most likely you won't have to pay more for shipping than the actual cost, but rather less, if for example your package weighs more than 500 grams!
