beading is my addictive meditation
I love to create - always have and probably always will. Life can be stressful and creating is my form of meditation. Bead work has proved to be far more addictive than any other form of creating I have ever tried - I see inspiration everywhere and necklaces actually turn out like I picture them in my head (unlike my attempts at painting)
I started making necklaces in 2009 after rescuing some broken but beautiful necklaces at a second hand store - I love searching for hidden treasures of all kinds and the creative challenge of making something beautiful from things someone else would throw away . My mom and sister had a regular table at the local farmers market so I started putting a display together to sell some of my creations. I heard about etsy from a friend, looked up the site and thought "what a great idea, I want to have an online shop!" I now have an etsy shop, regular tables at several local markets, a permanent consignment display at a local gift shop, regular trunk shows at work, and the occasional home party. It feels like those old credit card commercials - beads - $, business costs - $, having someone like your creations enough to buy them - priceless.
My workspace is a "studio" in my living room, small, mostly organized, almost always has a work in progress on the beadboard and ready to be worked on whenever the mood strikes me. I have far more great ideas than I have time to make, which is great since that way I never get creative block. Sometimes I do need more beads....
All of my pieces are one of a kind because they all either have something handmade or recycled in them. I start with that and see what kind of necklace it wants to become. Mostly I work with what I have on hand, since my supplies are either sourced individually or bought online as I am far from shopping, but sometimes I do need more beads....
Around the web
I have a philosophy of affordable one-of-a-kind jewelry , handmade, often from recycled and/or handmade components...what's not to love? Besides, it supports my bead addiction and keeps me out of trouble :)

Additional policies and FAQs
Custom work is available on request - no deposit necessary, if you don't like the finished product there is no need to purchase, it will be added to my collection of one of a kind for sale items and find a home with someone else - no hard feelings either! and if it was close but not quite, we can work on it until it is perfect.
Wholesale is not available at this time - I price my items to be affordable and cannot give the discount that wholesale would require (also my pieces are one of a kind so multiples of the same thing are not available).
Consignment is fun, if you have a shop, I have some great jewelery, let's talk!
