Announcement   Welcome to my shop! I have been lately working on signs geared for Spring. But much of my work could be appropriate for any season. I also do pet portraits. Custom work is offered, too: signs with your ideas on them. I do have a certain stock to choose from; I can't guarantee for sure that I will have a precise width or length available, but will do my best to accommodate your wishes.
NOTE: I offer FREE SHIPPING on several of my prints!
Enjoy browsing and feel free to ask me questions! I will get back to you just as soon as I can.

About

How HeritageWorkshopCo Began

Although I've been a published artist for years and done countless venues to sell my work, the Etsy venture appealed to me for its ease and availability of worldwide potential customers. When I lived in Maine for eleven years, my work tended to be lighthouses and New England style designs; when moving back to Texas, that came to a screeching halt, and I launched into Texas style!! But in both places, my customer field was limited geographically, so I decided to see if Etsy could expand my horizons.

When my husband helped someone outside of our small town tear down a barn, he came into possession of some great barnwood. We already had a small supply from a previous barn but were running low. Then we added to our stockpile with various pieces of reclaimed wood. With the popularity of signs on this type of surface, I decided to go for it!

Although art is something I dearly love, decorating runs a close second, so I have a vital interest in helping other people decorate their beloved abodes with something handmade and quality. I love to bring a warm, country feel to my work (see my prints on Penny Lane Publishing), and I knew there were countless people out there who want that atmosphere. My favorite customers are those who get back to me about how they use their purchases and sometimes even send a picture. Makes me feel like a friend, welcomed into their home for a visit!

I am pretty demanding as far as getting things right, so I work long hours and sometimes agonize over things, but I think the results are worth it! I hope you'll explore all the items in my shop and visit often. Feel free to contact me with your ideas. I appreciate this kind of input!

    Owner, Designer, Maker

My Etsy shop is a small but busy place! Almost every day finds me thinking about what new piece of artwork I will create from my array of blank pieces of reclaimed wood. Once I come up with an idea, then I get to work!

  • Ken

    Assistant

My husband, Ken, works hard to prepare all the rough pieces of wood we have in our stockpile. After I decide what sizes I want, he cuts and sands and cleans each one carefully, then brings them in for me to work on.

Frequently asked questions
Custom and personalized orders

I will gladly consider requests for a custom or personalized order, and will do everything in my power to honor your wishes. In the past I have done a few signs for businesses, including a bed and breakfast in Maine. Most of my orders are usually a little less ambitious. No matter; each job I do for someone I give my utmost attention and concentration! I have a good supply of reclaimed wood in the form of barnwood, pallet wood and old fence pickets. If you desire an exact size, I will do my best to accommodate that. Contact me, and we can work together to come up with what you have in mind! Of course, keep in mind that if you have a very specific size in mind, I may not be able to accommodate that, but I'll do the best I can!

Sizing details

Since I deal in reclaimed barnwood, pallet wood or whatever treasure turns up, sometimes sizing can vary a little. I try to give accurate descriptions of my products, but they may vary slightly.

Care instructions

Reclaimed and old wood, even though it goes through a sanding and cleaning process before I start painting on it, may contain a snag here or there. It is best to be careful when handling. As far as general care for my signs, the background paint generally has a primer in it and should hold up well, even outdoors. NEW: I now make it a policy to spray every single piece I do with either a matte clear sealer or a satin varnish. The satin varnish is low luster and doesn't detract from the art, but instead enhances the colors, as well as giving it durability.

Wholesale availability

I tend to be pretty exacting when I paint, so it's impossible for me to rush through something. However, if you are interested in contacting me about wholesale, I would be glad to talk with you. Since the nature of my art is time-consuming, a wholesale task may be in relatively small quantity - I'm not a factory! I will consider each request individually before making a decision.

Custom and personalized orders

Contact me and we can discuss options.

How can I know the true color of an item?

I do try my best to describe the colors and take photos, but sometimes the exact true color of something isn't portrayed perfectly! This is unavoidable, but not a big problem, because I would say that normally, what you see is what you get! If you have questions about a color on something, please message me and I'll try to help.
