This beautiful photo print reminds me of my childhood (we used to pull the little flowers off the bush and throw them into the air to play 'weddings' :-P. Thank you for such super quick postage too - I loved getting this special package in the mail x

Love everything about this zine. My son enjoyed reading out each haiku and discussing which ones appealed most to him. He is keen to write some haikus about things he loves now ;-)

Thank you SO much for the wonderful package of goodies you posted so quickly to me. My son and I both adored the haikus in this zine, as well as the interesting design of the text and the beautiful artwork on the cover. Thank you also for the lovely freebies - they will be well loved and enjoyed <3 xxx

A cute little hand made book that makes me smile when I see it and when I read the mini poems. Fits perfectly in a micro Travelers Notebook.

The Hey Harriet Story... Say Cheese!

Hello there! Hey Harriet is a one person show run by me, Tracy. I’m the photographer, artist, packer of orders, sender of emails and post office runner. Actually I tend to cycle to the post office more often than I run to it. If I’m not cycling I’m usually walking. Truth be known I rarely run anywhere. Unless I think I’m going to be late for an appointment or a bus connection. Then I run. Fast as I can!

My Etsy shop came to fruition shortly after I started sharing my work in public for the very first time in local venues around Brisbane. The community spirit of Etsy appealed to me and after some sweet encouragement from friends I took the plunge and established my little online shop. Etsy has provided a fun and supportive platform enabling me to share my work on a much larger scale and connect with lovely customers from all around the globe. The contacts made and the opportunities that have been presented to me over the years have resulted in my work being made available in a number of stores and galleries within Australia and internationally. It truly has been so very rewarding being a part of the Etsy community and I enjoy all that running a small indie business encompasses.

I’m based in Australia on a very small but very scenic island in south east Queensland, less than an hour from Brisbane. The island is so small that we don’t even have any traffic lights. The only time that we ever experience a brief hold-up in traffic is when the peacocks or ducks are crossing the road. We do however have a little post office that I ride my bike to when sending orders; carefully dodging peacocks and ducks along the way.

A question that I’m often asked is why the name Hey Harriet and what’s the reference? It’s a musical reference of sorts. When I decided to open an Etsy shop I sat down with a pen and paper (yes I am a little old fashioned in that I like to use pen and paper) to jot down ideas for names. I wanted to use the name of a person but not my own name because it’s not a very catchy kind of name. I was listening to a CD at the time by a band called The Sundays. The lead singer of that band is called Harriet. And I thought to myself “Hey Harriet” and there you have it. That’s as far as the list went. One entry. It may well have been very different had I been listening to an Engelbert Humperdinck CD. I could now be going by the name “Hey Humperdinck” Thankfully I’ve never owned any Engelbert Humperdinck CDs…

Some places I've been fortunate to have my work featured:
Cuteable * Apartment Therapy * Mixed Plate * Schmap Brisbane Guide * Indie Public (She Dreams of Art Series) * Indie Fixx * Craftgawker * Living a Handmade Life * IndieSpotting * Australian Etsy Blog * POE Blog * BrisStyle * Method Press (issue #2) * The Studio (issue #1)

In the event of lost packages – I consider an international package lost if it has not arrived within 6 weeks. It has been my experience that the majority of “lost” packages do eventually find their way to their destinations within that time frame. I will of course replace lost packages at no charge, but if you could wait the 6 weeks to see if it arrives before I send a replacement it would be greatly appreciated.

Customer satisfaction is of the utmost importance to me so please do contact me within 7 days of receiving your order if you have any issues with your purchase. If you are not satisfied with your purchase I will either replace print/s or refund your money. You will be responsible for returning items in their original condition. If you return your item, I will send an exchange or refund your money as soon as I’ve received the item/s.
