Hey Nature is een initiatief van Melissa Davie, illustrator, natuurkenner en wetenschapscommunicator uit de Calder Valley. De kern van mijn werk is de wens om mensen te helpen een band met de natuur te ontwikkelen door middel van kunst, ecologie en ontdekkingstochten.

Ik ontwerp illustraties en educatief materiaal, en begeleid wandeltochten en workshops om mensen te helpen de natuur te ontdekken. Mijn materialen en workshops moedigen deelnemers aan om de natuur te onderzoeken vanuit het perspectief van een natuurkenner en hun bevindingen vast te leggen in natuurdagboeken. Ik maak botanische illustraties, personages geïnspireerd op plantengemeenschappen, folklore en bloemenfeeën, en illustraties geïnspireerd op het landschap.

Hey Nature is created by Melissa Davie, an illustrator, naturalist and science communicator from the Calder Valley. At the heart of my practice is a desire to help people connect with the natural world through art, ecology and exploration.

I design illustrations and educational resources, and facilitate trails and workshops to help people engage with Nature. My resources and workshops encouraging participants to investigate Nature through the eyes of a naturalist and document their findings in Nature Notebooks. I create botanical illustrations, characters inspired by plant communities, folklore and flower fairies, and illustrations inspired by the land.
