Note from shop owner Dear Customers, I am very sorry for the inconvenience. The store is currently closed for a health and wellness break, and unfortunately, I'm not sure when I will be able to reopen. I was hoping I would by now, but my body needs more time. Please check back periodically if you are still interested. THANK YOU SO MUCH for your business. I am able to do a few special orders for existing customers, so please contact me directly at HiddenBlissStudio [!at] gmail.com for inquiries, or if you have a problem with an already purchased product.

The plan was to make and sell meditation cushions, but then there was COVID, and plans changed. Masks are needed, so we make masks. This work has helped keep me grounded through the pandemic. It helps to feel that I am helping somehow, and I've found the masks to be surprisingly aesthetically pleasing.

I am strongly committed to creating textile products that facilitate alignment with the natural world. We have done too much damage already, so I do my best to use natural, organically grown materials that will biodegrade (I have compromised a little by adding plastic boning to the masks, and using elastic for the kids). We still have a long way to go with finding perfect solutions, but our awareness and efforts are a step forward. The ultimate goal is beyond sustainability and toward regeneration- making things better than we found them. Packing materials are also intentionally recycled and biodegradable, and payment of a living wage is another key part of my philosophy. All of these attributes are reflected in the pricing, but to be honest, the prices of these masks made at this scale does not reflect a meaningful profit. For me at this juncture, this is mostly a labor of love. I have also been donating masks as I go.

The name "Hidden Bliss" speaks to seeking out the experience of joy that is within us always, but often forgotten. For me, it comes with the act of making, with meditation, with yoga, with walking and skiing in the woods, being by water (I live in the amazing Finger Lakes region in central New York State). Somehow this name seems to apply to our current masked lives as well. I hope that my products will bring some joy to your experience!

I must also send many thanks to family and friends for giving feedback, taking photos and being wonderful mask models!
