Sale on humane pelts. These were made without harming the sheep by giving them a haircut and felting the fleece. Great for accent pieces.

About

Life on HidowFiberFarm

On HidowFiberFarm we have a flock of about 40 Shetland Sheep that provides most of the wool for our projects. I also have 2 roosters and a rabbit along with the miscellaneous wildlife that lives in the country. I shear my sheep myself by hand every spring, which for those unfamiliar to the process is just a hair cut.

When I am not working directly with the sheep I may be playing with puppies. Along with the farm animals I am also a breeder/owner/handler of Shelties and Icelandic sheepdogs under the prefix of Hidow.

I am an AKC Breeder of Merit and a member of the Icelandic Sheepdog Association of America. At the 2016 Icelandic Sheepdog National Specialty I was the breeder/owner handler of the Winners bitch and Winner of the Best Bred by Exhibitor. I was also Co-breeder/co-owner on the Winners Dog/Best of Winners and the owner of the winning Brood bitch who was shown with her offspring, the winners dog and winners bitch.

In 2015 I bred the Best of Breed winner of the ISAA National Specialty and had two dogs I bred finish in the Top 5 for the breed. Both breeds are great farm and family dogs and I am able to use them to help with the livestock. As you can see we keep quite busy and strive for quality in all that we do.

I also like to support my fellow fiber farmers and will quite often buy fleeces of other breeds from them. They are from farmers that I know give their animals the same level of care that I do. I share these fleeces in my shop with you!

All proceeds from fiber sales go to help feed and care for my animals.
