Vintage items are intrinsically romantic. They have a past. They have been a part of someone else's journey and now they are part of yours. When you put on a vintage garment, hat, or piece of jewelry you are wearing history.

~Why wear a hat?
There is no other item in a woman or mans wardrobe that makes such an immediate and lasting impression. It can directly reflect your personal style, sense of humor, and confidence.

~Why Etsy?
Etsy is a unique community of independent vintage enthusiasts and artists. I first heard about Etsy while watching the Martha Stewart show, I fell in love with it immediately.

Care instructions

Veils sometimes wrinkle during shipping. Gently steam your veil to reshape.

Hats should be stored in boxes, never hung on walls or sat on shelves, where they collect dust.

You can clean your felt hat with a lint brush as needed. Straw hats can be wiped with a slightly damp cloth.

Vintage crepe should never touch water. For cleaning, seek a local professional dry cleaning service and ask them if they are familiar with vintage fabrics.

Vintage velvet should never be ironed, this bruises the fibers.

Wool and cotton vintage is easy to care for and usually can be hand washed in cold water. Lay flat to dry, warm iron as needed.

How long can items be placed on reserve or held?

I love to help my customers get the hat or vintage garment they have their heart set on, and am happy to work with them.

Items can be held or reserved for 24 hours.

For longer reserves or holds, a non-refundable deposit must be paid.

For large orders or items over $100 a layaway plan can be set up. For more details, please message me here on etsy.

Is express shipping available?

I am happy to mail your order USPS Priority express mail. Please note, this will significantly change the cost in shipping. You will need to message me 24 hours in advance of the shipping date so I can weigh the item and adjust the shipping price.

Can I return my order if the international customs charge is higher than expected?

Dear respected international customers. Sorry, but NO, returns will not be accepted for failure to pay your customs fee or international shipping taxes.

Orders that are not picked up will be treated as abandoned and HighHatCouture.com will not refund the purchase.

Please be aware that some International customers may, at times, be required to travel to their local customs office, present their government issued ID, and pay the appropriate import taxes in order to receive their parcel.

Can I set up layaway for newly listed items?

There is a no hold/layaway policy for all Newly listed items for 24 hours.
