About

Specializing in Locally Grown and Processed Animal Fiber Yarns Hand Dyed in My Kitchen

My business started in the 1980s, and the name originated on a hill when I spun all of my yarns and sold knitwear using only hand spun yarn.
At present I still enjoy spinning, but I actually spend most of my time dyeing yarn and roving. The dyes I use come from various sources, but I try to stay on the safe side with natural and organic dyes.
I live, create and sell my products from my physical location in Maine, USA. If you would like to visit my home shop please call ahead of time- 207-928-2000. You may find more information on my website with links to Facebook and Ravelry.com

Welcome to Hilltop Handspun! I am inspired by the colors of nature in Western Maine and design yarns using natural materials.

This is Maine's Blue Ribbon Event! Our biggest agricultural fair of the year. The Fiber Center is an education based building where you may witness fiber demonstrations during the 12 hours we are open daily. We have talented, friendly fiber artists who will be spinning, knitting, weaving, felting, needle felting, rug hooking and more, each and every day of the fair. There will be vendors with wonderful, hand-made items available for purchase. The calendar of events is posted daily and on the web site. I will be in my usual post, second on the right inside the front entrance. Please stop by and enjoy what we have to offer.
