Announcement   Welcome to the Hippie by the Sea Shop! I'm happy you've wondered over to my spot in the "cloud". All the photos you see here were taken while living and traveling abroad. Inspiration for my art was taken from my travels most recently to Hawaii, Australia, Tasmania, New Zealand, and Fiji. Vintage items purchased along the way are also featured in the shop below. New art and travel photography is added every season. New vintage items are added every week. And custom Calligraphy services are now available! Please read shop policies before making a purchase on a vintage item or placing an order for a custom calligraphy commission. I take on a limited number of commissioned works every year. Thanks for visiting, check back often.

This map did not disappoint in it's details and quality. It arrived in excellent shape and well packaged, as has been my previous experience with this seller. Will continue to buy her products and encourage others to as well!

About

There is nothing more truly artistic than to love people...

It's never to late to follow your dreams. I am proof. As a freshly married Epidemiologist, I recently left my full time job in the field of Public Health to move to Australia with my husband, and am now living in Door County. All unexpected, but exciting changes in my life. To make a long story short, life has finally afforded me the time to pursue my lifelong passion of sharing my art and photography.

These images and art pieces are incredibly special to me, and are snapshots and expressions of my life while living and traveling abroad in over 18 countries. A good portion of the photos are from traveling for public health projects. My favorite artist Vincent Van Gogh said, "I feel that there is nothing more truly artistic than to love people" and I completely agree with him. Being invited into hundreds of homes, working with-in villages globally, and communities domestically- I know one thing for sure, I love people and I love to travel.

My most recent art line, Fresh Air, was released this past summer and is inspired from traveling through Australia, Tasmania, New Zealand, and Fiji. You can view my gallery by going here:

Please check back for new material often. You can follow my journey as an artist as I continue to pursue my passion for public health on my travel blog listed under "shop blog".

Thank you for visiting my shop. I hope you enjoy the photos, art, and stories behind them.

xo

Additional policies and FAQs
*VINTAGE DISCLAIMER*
As with most vintage items, they are sold for their character, unique, one-of-a-kind qualities. NOT a brand new item. All of the items listed in the vintage section of Hippie by the Sea are 30 to 100+ years old. They are unique vintage/antique pieces from all over the world.

If you are looking for a brand new item, please do not purchase items from my vintage section. You would be better off heading to a department store. I pride myself on the items I place in my store and work hard to search for and list items that are in good to great vintage (working) condition. I only list items that I would not only keep/use for myself, but I know that you, as a customer, would be excited to purchase, open in the mail, and enjoy for years to come.

Please do not purchase the item, then leave a poor review claiming you were “not aware of the dimensions”, you are “surprised how big it was”, or that the item was slightly “imperfect”. While I do appreciate and welcome honest reviews, I do not appreciate when customers do not read the description carefully before making their purchase, subsequently seeming not to understand that they are purchasing a vintage item- not a brand new one.

In every item I list in my shop, I place my brand and my reputation out there. Two things I’ve worked very hard over the years to build. As any entrepreneur can attest to, a poor rating/review can ruin a brand, and destroy a business. This disclaimer is not meant to come off harsh – just completely honest.

Please read each description carefully as it will include dimensions of the item(s) and look at all descriptions/photos closely as they will list/show any “imperfections” that may be of concern to you, my customers. If you have any questions on the item- do not hesitate to contact me. Prices are non-negotiable. Thank you for your interest and your business.
