Announcement   HisLensMyPen...addressing the heart, not the calendar

After talking about it for years, my husband and I have finally joined creative forces. By merging stunning Nature photography (his) with with spot-on inspirational messages (mine), we create greeting cards that reflect universal relationships and experiences.

His Lens/My Pen approaches the traditional greeting card categories -- birthday, anniversary, sympathy, apology -- differently. Our cards speak to emotions and situations -- adventure, friendship, celebration, encouragement, laughter, affirmation. We even have a card to celebrate the strengths of people who are shy! Coming at it this way, His Lens/My Pen cards can be used for all kinds of occasions.

It starts with the image, the inkwell that I dip my pen into. When I begin, the first question is, What is this photograph saying to me? What truths about life does the photo reflect? And most crucial, How can I put all of those thoughts into 20 words or fewer?

"Take Flight" can offer congrats to a recent graduate. And friend sent it to a couple marrying for the second time. "Soar with Friends" is a great birthday card for a great friend, yet someone I know used it as a thank you to a travel agent for organizing a girls' getaway. See what I mean? Because His Lens/My Pen addresses the heart not the calendar, the possibilities are nearly endless. Keep a stack on hand and you'll never be caught short when a friend's birthday takes you by surprise or you need one last graduation card.

Every time I choose on of my husband's photos, the adventure begins again. Thank you for stopping by and joining us on the adventure.

I highly recommend this card. The quality of the card stock is high, the photograph purely professional and the words are the perfect message to go with the photograph. I received the card promptly and in fine condition, as it was packed in an appropriate package. The combined talents of Debra and Martin are phenomenal and I recommend the purchase of any of their cards. Elissa Schwartz

About

HisLensMyPen...addressing the heart not the calendar

After talking about it for years, my husband and I have finally joined creative forces. By merging stunning Nature photography (his) with with spot-on inspirational messages (mine), we create greeting cards that reflect universal relationships and experiences. On our shop's front page you can read more about the genesis of His Lens/My Pen greeting cards.

What makes His Lens/My Pen cards different from other all other cards?

One, each card's message has been written specifically to reflect what the photograph is saying visually. Consider it a translation, like French to English but in this case image to word.

Two, His Lens/My Pen cards can be used for multiple occasions. "Take Flight: makes a great card for graduation, birthday, anniversary, or to inspire someone turning over a new leaf or beginning a new venture. "Soar with Friends" is a wonderful "just-because-I think-you're-a-wonderful-friend" kind of card. But it's perfect for birthdays. Someone told me she used it as a thank you to a travel agent who organized a girl trip for her and her friends. "Take it One Step at a Time" is an important message for our impatient loved ones. Or for someone in recovery. The possibilities are nearly endless

Three, His Lens/My Pen cards zero in on realities that other cards don't even touch. "Some Folks" is perfect for validating the gifts of a shy child. "Goose Talk" can help break the ice when couples and/or parents and their teens are struggling to see eye-to-eye.

So there you have it for now. Thank you for visiting. If you want to get in touch, please do so on the contact shop owner page.

"Creativity" is the conventional term for the kind of brain that flits like a bumblebee from one gorgeous blossom of an idea to another….. My husband is a terrific photographer. Why don't we join creative forces? I'll write meditations to pair with his glorious images. We'll call it His Lens/My Pen.
