Note from shop owner Hello! I am taking a break from Etsy for the months of August-October while I focus on wedding planning, getting married, and enjoying my honeymoon stress free! The shop will resume normal activity in November with a fresh start and plenty of love and energy to get ready for the holidays! Thanks so much to everyone who has supported my shop in the past two years, and thank you for supporting small businesses through Etsy! Hope everyone enjoys the rest of the summer. See you in the fall! <3 History of the Heart

About

Helping individuals all over the world share the love they have for their friends and family, or, my escape from my day job.

When the long hours and disgruntled customers in retail started to wear on me, I knew I had to find a productive and meaningful way to pass my time.

For me, arts and crafts have always been a source of relaxation and a perfect way to wind down while watching a movie or spending time with family and friends, (I just can't sit still!), so it only seemed natural that I try to spend time focusing on things like that. I started out by making necklaces and christmas ornaments for family around Christmas 2011, and the responses from my family, while they may be a bit biased, were fantastic. I had the crazy idea that maybe I could drop down to part time at my job, have more free time to myself, and supplement my income by selling the things I make.

In February of 2012 I started up History of the Heart and cut back on my hours at work and have never regretted that decision for a moment. To be able to spend more time doing the things that I love to do and to share these things with family, friends and perfect strangers has made a significant difference in my life.

Through History of the Heart I am able to connect with people all over the world and give them tangible and meaningful ways for them to show how much the people in their lives mean to them. I absolutely love hearing stories of who my creations are for and how excited my customers are to share them with the people they love.

The name History of the Heart stemmed from the idea that we are all connected by love and compassion despite all of the ups and downs in life and all of the hard and awful things in the world. Etsy exists as a means for people around the world to connect through things that are beautiful and meaningful and ultimately tell a story. I feel that all of these stories come together to form a collective History of the Heart that can be shared and understood across cultures and continents.

My morse code necklaces are just one way that we can share this history in a simple, secretive, but fun and incredibly meaningful way.

I look forward to seeing where History of the Heart takes me and how it influences the lives of people around the world. While I make the things that I sell, my work will always be a collaboration as I am constantly making custom pieces and listening to ideas and input from the people I connect with on Etsy :o)

Thank you for being a part of History of the Heart :o)

I'm Allison, a California native living in the Bay Area. When my job in retail started to wear on me I needed a creative release, so I decided to spend my free time creating and sharing with others.

The things that I make are all personalized to express your own history centered on where you come from, what you are passionate about and who you love. I encourage you to contact me directly with ideas on how I can customize any item in my shop for you.

History of the Heart is just beginning and I look forward to exploring my own ideas and collaborating with those of others to see how the designs develop and are incorporated into your life and the collective history of the heart.

Feel free to contact me with any questions, feedback or suggestions through Etsy.

Love,
Allison

Payment
PAYMENT: I accept PayPal, Direct Payment with Credit or Debit Cards, and Etsy Gift Cards.

CANCELLATION POLICY: Orders may be cancelled within 48 hours of purchase for any non-custom orders. For custom orders, please contact me to see if your order has been made yet. If it has not, I would be happy to issue a refund and cancel the order. Cancellations after this period are made on a case-by-case basis.

CHANGES: All changes to orders (custom message, color, length, etc.,) must be made within 48 hours of your order purchase date or items will be shipped as they were originally ordered. We make all items by hand as the orders come in, and within 48 hours it is usually too late to make changes. If you decide you would like a different order, please see our exchange policy.

Note: Shipping times are different from processing times. Processing times vary based on how busy the shop is at any given time, check each item description for processing times.

STANDARD SHIPPING: All shipping is via USPS Priority Mail (3-4 days) for domestic and USPS First Class (7-14 days) for international orders. Please note that shipping times can vary based on location. If for some reason your tracking number shows that your order is delayed, please contact me so I can look into it for you.
