Days spent hustling from one client's house to another, measuring windows for curtains, scrutinizing wallpaper samples and pitching ideas for the perfect flower garden out back are fun, hectic and exciting but never compare to ones spent digging for dusty treasure.
As a child I was dragged from one antique center to another, I have seen my fair share of auction houses and estate sales. I am not sure if it was in the water or the DNA, but today I am now the one dragging my toddler and baby to the same events. My son even requests to go to "sales" where he is sure to find a rusty truck or old GI Joe to add to his collection. I think I became a decorator just so I could search high and low for unique goodies to put in other people's homes (mine has gotten too full). Mixing the new and the old for my clients is certainly my specialty and I am sure that I have even converted a few of them to the dark side of vintage.
This shop was opened to keep that hunt alive beyond the specific needs of my clients. I see such wonderful and fabulous things out there and love rescuing them, in some cases reviving them, and putting them in a new home. Here you will find really lovely pieces, high quality designer items and pieces you probably won't ever see again. If something is a bit too shabby I recover and repair using the best in fabrics and finishes. If you see something you love, but want it customized for you, just let me know. Is more fun to make something personal for someone anyway!
