Welcome to my shop of miniature friends!
My shop is an adoption centre for animals/creatures ready to adopt or regularly in stock for adoption. Custom orders are taken on social media.
Most items are suitable for vegetarians/vegans.
Approx processing and shipping times on all listings under the shipping section of each item.
Items are moved between 'ready to go' - 'made to order' sections and processing times when they are in stock- descriptions are not changed.

Items are given a 3-5 working day dispatch date but my posting days are Mondays and Thursdays. This also includes express delivery options-unless discussed and agreed to prior to ordering. Please order before 9am BST on Mondays and Thursdays to ensure dispatch that day, orders after this time may not be posted until the following Posting day.
Due to the pandemic my local post office is closed on Fridays and Saturdays.

UNITED KINGDOM-
Standard shipping within the UK mainland is first class signed for with Royal Mail for miniatures. The first class service with Royal Mail has an aim of 1-3 working days but may take up to 12 working days during busy periods (or pandemic related delays). If your order contains fragile components/accessories or is of parcel size (over 25mm) then it will be shipped as a second class. If your order total goes over £50 value please be aware items may be sent in separate parcels/packages. If you'd like to discuss this just pop me a message :) Packaging is simple and minimal to prevent additional charges and keep costs low for yourself.
Next working day delivery option is a guarantee from Royal Mail. Items with this express delivery option will still be dispatched Mondays and Thursdays if ordered before 9am BST unless you contact me beforehand and it is agreed to post outside of these times. Due to the strike action Royal Mail are no longer guaranteeing delivery before 1pm but they are prioritising express delivery mail. If your item is delayed please notify me immediately and I will do my best to assist. If you choose to cancel your order after it is dispatched this service is non-refundable.

If your item has not arrived within 3 weeks please notify me. In usual times International orders are sent Tracked and Signed for (to Europe) and Tracked (to the rest of the world) unless otherwise stated or discussed prior to ordering. Countries where there is not a tracked and signed service available will be sent tracked only. This is a 5-10 working day service but please allow up to 25-35 working days from expected date of delivery. This does not include any customs/import or pandemic related delays. If items are dispatched and you have provided an incorrect address the responsibility of the package lies with the customer for providing the wrong information. Correct address must be provided when paying the additional postage costs. If the item is delivered to the address it is the responsibility of the buyer to collect the item from the address.

Tracking numbers/proof of postage barcodes
These are provided on all dispatch notifications, please keep watch over your parcel to see if a delivery has been attempted. If delivery is attempted and you are not home it is your responsibility to collect it before the item is returned. If the item is returned due to non-collection you will be given a refund- please note if you fail to collect the item I will not give a refund until I have the item back. For outside the UK this can be up to 12 weeks. If you are outside the UK and have a non-collection return and opt for a refund, only the items price will be refunded. If your item hasn't arrived within 7 working days (UK) or 15 working days (International) please pop me a message and I will help you the best I can to locate your parcel and discuss options for a future refund/replacement when the claim time comes. Shipping prices are for the fastest delivery options available for a reasonable price. Shipping in separate parcels saves you money. Shipping upgrades chosen by you, such as rush and guaranteed next day delivery options will not be refunded if you change your mind and wish to return an item for any reason unless the item is damaged in transit or faulty.

Packaging/Recycling:
No indication of the contents are visible on the outside of your parcel. Orders are sent in as much recyclable and recycled packaging as possible. Plastic is kept to a minimum where possible. Kraft card stock makes up the majority of my packaging material because it is made from recycled cardboard. A plastic sleeve is used to protect your certificate of authenticity-if you do not want this please let me know upon ordering. Cardboard, paper and card included in your delivery is recyclable if you have this option available to you. The item it's self, any tape used and the plastic sleeve are sadly not recyclable. Any sponge/foam sent to aid safe delivery of your item is pink. The foam/sponge is given to me free of charge from another local business- it is not meant to cause offence and no other colour options are available. Please recycle any packaging where possible.

UK customers: Generally external packaging is a plain white/brown envelope which is fully secured with tape. This is to ensure the sorting machine or delivery person does not accidentally rip open your parcel. It also provides a barrier against beautiful UK weather. Unfortunately any additional packaging takes my items over the large letter size guide and the corners on the gift boxes can tear through plastic mailing bags so based on years of experience this is the best option. I understand the tape may be an inconvenience and so I urge you to open your parcel carefully to ensure you do not damage the contents. I package them this way to save customers approximately £5 in postage and packaging costs. If you'd like your item sent in another way, please contact me before purchasing so I can create a custom listing for you (please note this will incur additional costs). Please note I will not be held responsible for any damage you cause to your items upon opening.
International customers: Generally my items are sent in a hard backed envelope which is mostly covered in tape. This is to ensure the corners of the gift box do not rip through the paper part of the envelope. Unfortunately any additional packaging takes my items over the large letter size guide and the corners on the gift boxes can tear through plastic mailing bags. I understand the tape may be an inconvenience and so I urge you to open your parcel carefully to ensure you do not damage the contents. Occasionally I use boxes and these boxes are usually recycled. They may have marks on them from removing previous labels. I package them this way to keep costs down for you as I understand international postage costs are high. Please note I will not be held responsible for any damage you cause to your items upon opening.

Processing begins once payment has cleared. Processing time is the time frame in which your order will be made, packaged and dispatched, it is not an estimate for delivery. UK residents: please know Etsy operates on a US time zone and so estimated delivery times may not be accurate on your receipt email, for example if you order late in the day in the UK when the post office is not open, Etsy still counts this as a day on your estimated processing time.

Ready to go items requiring necklaces, decorated plant pots, potato sacks, eyelashes, flowers or any other additional details will not be immediately dispatched as these are added to order but they will still be dispatched within my estimated dispatch time.

Safety:
NONE of my items are suitable for children under 14 years of age. They all contain very small parts. All items are art. No items have undergone safety testing due to size. The items themselves are choking hazards. If you purchase an item then decide to give it to a child, I accept no responsibility for any harm or injury caused by the item purchased.
My items are intended as ornaments/display items and so should last a lifetime if cared for and stored correctly and so do not have a warranty, however if a fault does appear in the first 28 days please contact me to discuss repair options. After this time, if an accident happens to your miniature please contact me to discuss (a fee for repair may apply). Buyers are responsible for postage costs.
All joints should be moved by pinching the limb where it touches the body, using joints any other way may cause them to become loose.
Polymer clay additions are attached using a resin based glue. They can come off if pulled or caught. ALL items go through a quality control before sending> Polymer clay additions are given a gentle wiggle to ensure they are secure and ensure they do not become detached with gentle movements. My items are fragile miniatures intended to be handled with care and mainly to live their life on a shelf or in a dolls house (or in some cases wearable art), they are not for rigorous play or wear. Resin glue can fault if exposed to heat, please keep your miniatures away from heat sources. All polymer clay additions are made by hand without the use of moulds, tailored to each individual item. If a polymer clay addition breaks or becomes loose I can repair the item at your cost and this may require you to send the item back to me for a fitting. Polymer clay items are too small or thin to have a strengthening armature. Including an armature may compromise the original strength due to their size.
Most of my items have been created with synthetic fibres and various cottons which originate from plant materials. Findings are usually plastic, glass, metal or faux fur/leather/suede and so are Vegetarian/Vegan friendly. In every description there is a short description on the fibre type.
The picture shown is an example of what you will receive unless otherwise stated. I have photographed and described my items to the best of my ability. They are all designs and items previously made by myself but due to being handmade each one is slightly different and one of a kind. Yarn is made in batches. Colours and/or thickness can vary between batches and so this may effect the colour or size of your item. items you receive may also appear different due to your screen/monitor settings.
Privacy
I fully comply with the GDPR regulations and take data protection very seriously.
HoDDminiatures / Hooked On Dodging Dusting - The artist Samantha Heaton is the sole protector and controller of data connected with the above business. I will only collect and retain data personal that I have been provided by you or you have authorised third parties in the transaction to give in order to fulfil your order.
The data includes your name, email address, postal address and if given, telephone number.
If paying with a credit or debit card this data is encrypted by Etsy and is not given to me as a seller. If you place your order via PayPal I will only see the email address linked to your account and the postal address you chose to provide upon payment that is linked to your account. No payment details owned by yourself such as bank and card details are available to me.
Any of your data given to me by yourself is held is on encrypted devices which are password and fingerprint protected and is only held for to fulfil your order as requested plus evidence (receipts) to prove I have posted your order and tax returns. Data retained for tax purposes is kept for up to 7 years and your data will be shredded when it is no longer needed. Your personal data will only be shared with the courier used to send your order and HMRC to prove my business is legitimate. These companies have their own privacy policies and I will happily locate them and send them to you at your request.
Your contact information is only used to talk about your order either to: answer enquiries, give quotes, notify you your order is processing, notify you your order is completed, to provide you with proof of postage, provide customer support, settle disputes, and on the rare occasion, to check your order has arrived.
Any physical evidence of your data such as receipts and rarely invoices are stored securely in a locked cabinet for tax return purposes. Only I hold a key for the cabinet.
Your information will only be given to necessary parties to comply with my legal obligations as a seller. Your personal data will never sold to third parties.
I do not have a mailing list or website, your data will not be used or sold for marketing purposes.
Messages containing personal information will be kept for 12 months after the last message received so I have your information to hand, purely to ensure you have a quick and pleasant transaction if a question or problem arises.

Frequently asked questions
Postal Strike news.
There are strikes happening at Royal Mail. The dates they are striking means post within the UK could slow down considerably. I kindly ask for your patience and for you to order early to avoid disappointment.
Etsy predicts delivery based on USUAL times. It does not calculate based on holiday rush and other potential delays such as the strikes.
Express delivery is taking priority. This is available in the drop down menu in your basket for UK residents only.
Recommended posting dates are just a guidance and not a guarantee for Christmas delivery.
Current planned strike dates are as follows:
November: 24th*, 25th, 30th
December: 1st*, 9th, 11th, 14th, 15th, 23rd, 24th.

How do I look after my little friend?
These little guys will last a lifetime of cared for and stored correctly.
Do not get your miniature friend wet- moisture may compromise the items integrity.
Most of my items are jointed, please turn the joints gently where the limb joins the body.
Polymer clay additions can break if not handled with care.
Keep out of direct sunlight.
Necklaces are pieces of wearable art and are not advised for every day wear.
Please keep hold of the gift box, you never know when you may need to take your miniature friend along on an adventure :)
How will my order be packaged?
My external packaging is plain and simple to keeps costs low for you. Orders are usually posted in a hardboard envelope but if the item is large it may be posted in a plain white paper envelope to keep it large letter and keep costs low for you.
An international buyer will have "Dolls house miniature" on the custom form.
Items are in a handstamped brown card gift box which is lined with coloured tissue paper. Certificates are in a transparent sleeve and then inside a recycled card envelope.
If you are sending your order direct to the recipient please make sure you update the address.
If you'd like your item presented any other way please contact me before purchase to ensure I can complete your request. Additional charges may apply.
Can I give this to a child?
My items are not for persons under 14 years of age. They are small and contain even smaller parts. My items are made with adult collectors in mind :)
Sizes and materials?
The first items created are measured with a vernier and put into the listings. There may be a slight difference in size due to batch number of materials and being handmade.
If an item is ready to go and you would like confirmation on the exact size of the item, please send me a message and I will be happy to help :)
Items are usually made from synthetic or plant fibres however I do make the occasional item which contains animal fibres. All listing state which fibre type they contain. Some items have glass eyes and some contain wire, and/or polymer clay.
Necklaces are black faux suede with silver coloured findings.
I'd like to customise my order, is this possible?
If you would like to customise and item or enquire about something made just for you please contact me before purchase by either clicking the message/custom order button on listings or contact me via one of my social media outlets.
At the moment all items here are complete and ready to go so some customisations may not be possible.
