These soup mugs are beautifully crafted, fit well in hand and hold quite a hefty amount of food. Great for entertaining, we enjoy serving our soups and stews in them, with salad and crusty home baked bread on the side!

About

From the corporate world to mud spattered overalls.

Deborah left the business world in 2000 and almost immediately got involved at the Mable House Arts Center as a volunteer. The next year, when Jim decided to quit his 11-year stint as a recreational soccer coach, Deborah signed him up for a pottery class at the Arts Center.

Jim quickly found his place on the pottery wheel and Deborah found hers at the slab roller. They have taken classes in wheel, handbuilding, glaze making, sculpture, folk pottery, and salku/raku at the Mable House Arts Center near their home and the John C. Campbell Folk School.

They work out of their home studio and Deborah conducts occasional handbuilding workshops for friends and former students.

Jim took early retirement in 2008 to devote himself full-time to his pottery. He enjoys carving his wheel-thrown pieces and has developed many of the attractive glaze combinations used on their current work.

Deborah produces functional stoneware pieces on the wheel but devotes her artistic talents to handbuilt pieces. Some of her favorite texture tools range from peach pits to old keys and jewelry to botanicals from her yard.

Shipping
First of all, we are happy to ship to other countries. Please contact us with the item listing you wish to purchase and your shipping address and we will let you know what the shipping charge will be for you.

For domestic shipments we ship via USPS Parcel Post from Mableton, GA 30126 to all US destinations. The shipping charge posted on each item is based on the item's shipping weight and furthest destination, plus materials and time. We make every effort to keep the cost of shipping to a minimum. If the postage to your location is less by one dollar or more we will refund the difference.

If you purchase more than one item then shipping may be less. This is especially true when purchasing dinnerware sets. We will refund any savings of more than a dollar to you. Or you can ask us to determine the total charge prior to making your purchase.

We pack all items in bubble wrap, newspaper, other packing materials (such as foam peanuts), and sturdy corrugated boxes. We want your piece to get there in one piece as much as you do!

If you wish to add insurance, expedite the shipment, add tracking, or any other available USPS service, please contact us prior to payment so the extra charges can be determined.

We hope to find ways to reduce shipping costs as we gain experience in this area and will modify the shipping charges accordingly.

We make every effort to reuse packing materials, not only to reduce costs but to keep the stuff out of the landfills.
Refunds and Exchanges
You must let us know if you wish to insure a shipment. We will not offer refunds for items damaged or lost in shipping.

We make every effort to make sure the photographs represent each object accurately. We recognize, however, that a piece may not appear the way you expected it to. We want you to be happy so we will do our best to remedy the situation with an exchange. You are responsible for all shipping costs and for returning the item in undamaged condition. No negative feedback will be posted in these situations.
Additional policies and FAQs
While most of our sales are at the retail level we are interested in developing wholesale accounts as well. Feel free to contact us if you are interested in a wholesale arrangement.

If you cannot find the item you desire or have an idea for a piece please contact us (via Custom Request). We would love to work with you to design, create, and deliver the piece that you are looking for.
