TV producer turns glass bead obsessed designer
Welcome to Holly's Folly Glass Beads on Etsy.
After writing and producing all kinds of tv and movies, I found myself working for the great Carol Duvall. I just loved seeing all the crafts and working with all those designers!
After that, I started my own marketing company focusing on small craft companies...and I ended up owning my biggest client, Sweet Stampen Rubber Stamps. I started designing rubber stamps for my company. My first designs were always meant to be used in jewelry...pmc, polyclay or dominoes. But always had a freakish obsession with glass.
I finally bought myself a torch and started making the beads I saw in my head! I sell my glass beads and jewelry here along with a handful of my stamp designs that work for jewelry making.
I love making beads that are different... beads with a basketweave pattern inside or something metallic and shiny. I also love making Memorial glass beads using cremains of loved ones. It has been an amazing experience to help someone with their grieving process through beads.
The Memorial beads have lead me to Memory beads... making a bead from a wine or champagne bottle used to celebrate a special event such as a wedding. Or using sand from a favorite beach in a bead.
I love beads that tell a story... I guess I'm still a writer at heart! You will find more of my work on Facebook and the venues there.
I am a television writer / producer /rottweiler mom / avid hiker / night swimmer / someone who loves working with her hands and making things. My favorite beads to make: memorial beads containing cremains, memory beads from bottles or beach sand.
My art background makes me strive for perfection. I prefer to use multicolored stringer to add texture and interest when "painting" with glass. A good artist always uses Highlights, lowlights and midtones in their work and I aim for that with my beads.
