This yarn makes me want to knit all day. The color, feel and even smell is the kind of wool where inspiration comes from.
Spinning My Wheel(s)
I have been spinning since the age of eight when my interest was sparked by watching a woman (who later became my spinning teacher) spin at a historic festival. I don’t come from a family of spinners but there was something about it that fascinated me even at such a young age. Sixteen years later, I am still fascinated not only by spinning but anything to do with fiber.
When I was thirteen, my other passion, horses, led me to start Homespun For Ewe. I wanted to save up enough money to buy a horse so I decided to utilize my handspun yarn. I began to sell yarn, crocheted scarves, and needle felted items at festivals and craft shows as well as entering spinning competitions and giving demonstrations. I continued Homespun for Ewe all the way through high school.
When I went to college, I never considered the possibility that Homespun For Ewe could be something more than a way to pay for my horse hobby. However, after I graduated college and entered the workforce, I began to realize just how important my creative and entrepreneurial endeavors are to me. With the encouragement of my wonderful husband, I have begun to once again market my handspun yarn. My dream is to eventually pursue spinning and fiber arts full time.
I enjoy spinning all types of fiber including many types of wool, angora, mohair, llama, alpaca, and exotic fibers on my Louet S51 wheel. If you have any questions about my products, feel free to either convo me or email me at homespunforewe [!at] gmail.com
I am a 24 year old fiber artist that is originally from southwestern Pennsylvania but is now living in northeastern Ohio. I am a country girl that loves gardening, horseback riding, spending time with my husband, and of course, spinning.
