This is exactly what I wanted/expected/hoped it would be. It came so fast and was in perfect condition. I am thrilled. Such a lovely handmade reflection of our state. I cannot wait to keep shopping at this etsy store.

This towel is lovely and thick and exactly as pictured (which means it compliments my kitchen beautifully). It shipped very quickly despite my ordering just before the holidays. It was a bit delayed in the postal system, but that's not the seller's fault and I expected it due to the time of year. The seller was very communicative and friendly, too :)

so nice these are my favorite towels!
Providing a coffeeshop experience at your own homestead.
Working as a barista at a local coffee shop was--hands down--my favorite job to date. The atmosphere of low lighting and worn hardwood floors, the clamoring of steaming milk over college radio or schizophrenic jazz, the scent of butter and sugar balanced with smoky roasted coffee, the daily routine of strangers. These are sensory comforts that remain unmatched in my current professional life.
My days behind an espresso bar long gone, Homesteading Roasters developed when I found myself living a rural, semi-self-sufficient mountain lifestyle in Colorado. Attempting to recreate formerly beloved surroundings, my ongoing art projects were regularly interrupted by a house full of smoke from my novice home roasting activities. I gradually spent more time on creative pursuits, improved my roasting skills, and became acquainted with Etsy. My current work focuses on minimal, single-color designs expressed as hand-printed textile and paper goods.
My husband and I now live in a remote coastal Alaskan town, full of actual, industrious homesteaders, not the young urban hipster types with an affection for heirloom chickens and organic vegetables. With cold dark winters necessitating prolific indoor hobbies, and 149 rainy days lending themselves to exuberant coffee consumption, Homesteading Roasters is thriving in the 49th state despite the unmerited name.
Outside of Etsy, Mandy's work can be found at Bunnell Street Art Gallery and Sustainable Wares in Homer, Alaska, and seasonally at the Homer Farmers' Market.
