From a Hobby to a Passion

I made my first card when I was 14 years old. It was Valentine's Day and I had my first boyfriend. I wasn't ready for all the mushy cards that had l-o-v-e written all over them so I went home and made my own! After that, I began making cards for friends and family members.

It wasn't until I was finishing up my bachelors degree that I considered making cards for a wider audience. With much encouragement, I started Honey & Fig Studio in the living room of my apartment I shared with two roommates. They were amazingly tolerant of the abundance of craft supplies that took over the space! Since then, my shop has grown to include hand-carved stamps and I continue to look for ways to expand with new and exciting products. I have developed a passion for making things that instill a sense of pride in my local community and beautiful state of Michigan.

      Owner, Maker, Designer

I have been doing art all my life and making greeting cards since I was 14. I love carving stamps and coming up with original designs, especially Michigan-themed ones! In addition to paper-crafting, I make collages and paint, mainly in oils.
