About Honeycombnhandiwork
Come learn with us!
Hi, I’m Gina!
Follower of Christ, wife, mommy to three boys, & second generation homeschooling mama passionate about wholesome living & raising little disciples who know and love the Lord.
Deuteronomy 6:7 commands us to teach our children diligently. It teaches us that this happens in the mundane: when we sit in our house, when we walk by the way, when we lie down, and when we rise up. We are called to diligently train and guide our children to know and love the Lord in all that we do.
Did you know that 90% of brain growth happens before kindergarten? Before a child turns six years old, their brains have developed more than any other time in life. Early brain development has a lasting impact on a child and the early years are when they are developing those connections that will establish the way they process things for the rest of their lives. Amazing, isn’t it?! Knowing this has created even more urgency when it comes to equipping my children with truth and guiding them through these impressionable, foundational years.
Children are naturally eager learners. Their sponge-like brains just soak in the world around them which makes it all the more important to make sure that what they are soaking in is feeding their soul. The Bible tells us in Psalms 19, that God’s creation reveals to us His glory, His handiwork, His testimony. That they make wise the simple and that they are sweeter than the sweetest honey and drippings of honeycomb! What better place than God’s creation for children to run wild with learning?!
There is so much to learn from the Lord’s creation, we just have to stop and look for it. So come and join us as we traipse barefoot through God’s glorious classroom!
Here is a little about the philosophy behind our curriculum:
// : Intentional Lifeschooling : //
We believe children learn best when they’re given the freedom to learn, explore, and soak in the world around them. When we allow them to uncover things they are curious about, ask questions, and grow in the knowledge of what interests them, learning comes naturally. It’s because of this, that we also believe in being intentional about the environment we allow our children to freely learn and grow in. God’s creation is filled with endless opportunities for learning. From God’s truths, to lessons in character, to everyday life skills, to the basics- creation makes the best learning space for children to learn and grow in.
Our Learning Guide is simply that: a guide for YOU, as you strive to diligently train your children while allowing them to soak in the wonders of our Creator, learn His truths, and discover who God called them to be.
Our learning Guide can be used as a comprehensive homeschooling curriculum for preschool and kindergarten aged children or as supplementation for children of all ages- the possibilities are endless!
-The foundation of our Learning Guide is God’s word. Each study and experience will include scripture for teaching and memory verses. We will explore God’s creation and strive to bring everything we learn back to His truths.
-Our Learning Guides are designed to be your one stop resource for all subjects for preschool, kindergarten, and early elementary aged children. It can also be used to supplement for older learners.

Frequently asked questions
What age is this intended for?
The guides are designed for preschool through early elementary. There are different elements that can be simplified or embellished to tailor it to your child.
Example: I need to simplify for my three year old (I don't usually read through every single print out and I keep the lessons short and sweet). My five year old loves all of the different elements included with the guides!
