Thank you for your continued support of this woman-owned, small business! Through your continued purchases we were able to donate over $5,000 to those supporting victims of human trafficking. For more information on this, our Bringing the Sweet Life to Everyone Campaign, see our FB page or stop back later at www.hopescaramels.com when our new website arrives later in January.
*Covid-19 and Hope's Caramels
We started this year off with moving into a brand new commercial kitchen space. We love it! We even bought a new automated pot that can make 4 batches of caramel at one time.
We were all geared up for our Spring events when Covid-19 hit. It hit us hard. All of our markets, vendor events, and even things like end-of-year teacher gifts became obsolete due to quarantining for safety. So, we are having to shift gears to more wholesale distribution and outdoor Farmer's Markets (with no samples). You will notice our shop banner says "Donate Now". Outdoor markets in the summer and caramels don't really go well together, but with Yeti-type coolers and freezer pack panels we can make it work. This is where that "Donate Now" comes in. We are hoping to raise several thousand dollars to buy the necessary equipment to make this transition and cover some of the costs of our kitchen facility during this crisis.
If you'd like to give, here's how: Venmo: @brady-shuert; PayPayl: Hope's Caramels; mail a check: Hope's Caramels, 24 Marion Avenue, Claymont, DE 19703.
EVERY donation will receive a 1-lb bag of caramels (your choice of flavor), a 1/2-lb bag of sea salt caramels, and a window cling to share and show your support.

About HopesCaramels
From cupcakes to caramels
One day my husband, Brady, took some of Hope's scrumptious salted caramel cupcakes to share with coworkers. Although topped with a delectable caramel-vanilla buttercream frosting, it was the caramel core of the vanilla cupcake that caught the attention of one of his coworkers. "Could she make the caramel cupcake without the cupcake?" And so Hope's Caramels was born.

Hope
Owner
I began as a stay-at-home mom who wanted to contribute financially to the household. Hope's Caramels is a product of being self-employed in the baking industry. Cooking, cutting, wrapping and package/ad designing are all part of my job description.

Brady
Owner
Brady is Hope's partner in this amazing business. He left his job April 2019 and joined Hope full-time. He is responsible for many things: cutting caramels, packaging, vendor events, financials, and dad duties. He's a hard worker!

Melinda
"Wrap"-er
Melinda came on part-time August 2019 after being seasonal help in 2018. She helps to wrap and package caramels. She is also part of the gift box design team from teacher gifts to holiday packages.
-
Amy
"Wrap"-er
Amy is Hope's mom. She works part-time at her real job, then pitches in one to days a week when things get a little crazy here at the caramel factory. She also works the vendor events with Hope's husband. It's one of her favorite jobs!
-
Sloane
"Wrap"-er
Sloane came on as seasonal help in 2017. She works the months of November and December because things can get down right "cray-cray" in the factory when caramel orders sky rocket.
-
Judy
"Wrap"-er
Judy is also seasonal help. She came on in 2018 and we have been thankful for her hard work. She recently got a full-time job, but we keep her in the loop and are anxious to have her when she can help us out.
-
Jackie
"Wrap"-er
Hope's late Aunt Jackie worked the early years of the business, wrapping. She was fast, efficient, and filled with lots of great wisdom. She is missed in the factory.

Shipping
Orders are shipped USPS Priority Mail, which takes only a couple of days. You will receive an email via Etsy once your caramels have shipped. A tracking number will be included in that email.
Most items ship in regional rate or flat rate boxes. If your purchase ships less expensively than what you've paid, we will refund any difference greater than $1. (Please understand the shipping rate includes postage, packaging and handling fees.) The Etsy shipping function does not always allow us to accurately charge for postage.
Hope's Caramels is happy to ship to another address. If it is for a special occasion or a gift, we will gladly write a card to go along with the gift. If choosing to do so, tell us about it and write the recipient's name and address in the comment section for the purchase. Please message us before purchasing if you want the caramels gift wrapped, as extra material and shipping costs will need to be set.
Contact us for international orders.
