Announcement    As long as I can remember, I’ve been drawn to animals. It didn’t matter if it was alive, stuffed, real or imagined. I think it’s their faces. So innocent to the ways of the human world. As a kid I would draw this little creature I called Ziggy. Basically because I couldn’t draw worth a crap I made him odd shaped with big “googly” eyes.

Now, a few decades later I still cannot draw worth a crap. Shocker-I am still drawn to making oddly shaped creatures with “googly” eyes. (What can I say?) They always make me smile. But now they have taken up a 3D form and are made out of glass.

I hope they make you smile as well.

If you’ve read this far (Thanks) Please visit www.Beadsofcourage.org . On the days that I want to play at the torch but don’t have a plan, I make beads for the Beads of Courage kids. And yes, they ALWAYS have googly eyes. :-)

If you must know the details…I began fusing glass in 2001 to make jewelry. Let me tell you something. The first time you melt glass, you’re hooked on an expensive and mesmerizing journey!! In 2007 I took a class in Lampworking, (most folks think of as glass blowing, but it’s a smaller scale) to learn how to make 3 dimensional critters. I started by learning how to make beads but has blossomed from there. Oh, and yes, I can make “pretty things" too.
