About HotWheelsAndGlueGuns

On Etsy since 2014

On a mission to help people connect and celebrate their lives.

The store grew from a blog. The blog grew from a compulsively crafty woman who has been making things all her life and wanted a way to connect with other makers!

The name Hot Wheels and Glue Guns came from the two facets that equally define my life. I am a life long wheelchair user who works in disabilities advocacy. My day job is something I am passionate about and feel fortunate to do. The other side of my brain has always loved art, crafts, learning how to take things apart and put them back together. I learned how to sew from my mother, and as a kid I always has a paper and pen in my hand, I created things constantly. As an adult, I am still just as inspired to try and make new things. I blog about my DIY adventures, which in recent years mostly involves updating my new condo. Now I challenge myself to make handmade look professional. I want what you buy to look even better than store bought!

I began this shop in 2014 to help people connect with with their lives and their loved ones. I LOVE writing letters and sending REAL MAIL. Am I old fashioned? maybe ; ) I am ON A MISSION to bring back happy mail and nothing makes me happier than when someone tells me they sent out a card I made. I challenge myself to use unexpected materials, think out of the box when creating my cards. I use things like wood veneer and burlap. I celebrate holidays like ' Just Because Day'. I try to make letter writing fun again!

Another facet to my shop is the scrapbooks and memory keeping supplies. Do people print pictures anymore? I know they share them (on FB and IG-me too!) but I love to see people PRINT OUT REAL PICTURES. Ones you can hold in your hands. Ones that generate stories over the dinner table. I know not everyone has the time/motivation to make pretty photo albums-so I have done the work for you! Each mini book I have made is designed to be simple and usable!

Thanks for coming with me on my mission to take over the world- let's make paper cool again!

xoxo,
Michelle
