Announcement   Like our page on Facebook for our latest updates, work-in-progress photos, and upcoming appearances around the Twin Cities.

----------------------------------------
Strangeblood Designs creates pieces of wood and metal, fantastical bladed pieces, intricately carved functional longbows, wands, and more. Each piece is hand carved and unique.

I will do reservations but it requires a $75.00 deposit which will be put towards the cost of the piece, it is nonrefundable but you always will have the credit from your deposit in the shop.

These are built as props and decorative objects, they are not meant for zombie outbreaks, killing extra large wasps, defending your house against crab people, or yarn store rampages (or any other IRL rampage for that matter). However, if there is a blade attached to a piece odds are its pretty sharp, so be mindful, and if its a bow then it can and will fire an arrow straight and true.

Full disclosure, I haven't actually seen this product, it was a gift for my brother. I had it shipped to his house. He says it's beautiful and it shipped immediately.

About

From Ireland to Minneapolis Minnesota...

I was born in Dublin, Ireland but have spent most of my life here in Minnesota. I inadvertently avoided becoming rich by pursuing a BFA in sculpture. Since graduating in 2004, I've spent most of my career as a welder/fabricator.

A few years ago an old employer went back on his word and in a fit of righteous indignation I quit. Then I quickly realized that I still needed to pay the bills, so I threw myself back into what I really enjoyed, sculptural wood and metal working. I quickly remembered how much I truly loved building beautiful and strange things, and this shop was born.

Most of my work revolves around unique styled prop pieces and other fantastical objects that you could picture in the Cosmere or Game of Thrones universe, with a major influence from HR Gigers biomechanial style. I do the odd pure sculptural piece here and there, but my greatest satisfaction comes from putting the final coat on a sword's handle or loosing an arrow from a bow that used to be just a chunk of raw wood.

As of summer 2015, we've moved into a larger work space which means we can increase production and release more of our unique items into the world.

Accepted payment methods

  • Accepts Etsy gift cards
Payment
I use Paypal and direct checkout for standard payment, please let me know if you need to use a different method, fyi I don't do barter or trade, unless you have a nice 1st/1st copy of Old Man's War or something similar.
Deposits are nonrefundable but will apply as "store credit" without any expiration (within reason, once dementia starts to kick in don't expect the best quality work)

Because of the value and size of many of my pieces I won't ship until I get confirmation of payment.
Shipping
I use both UPS and the USPS for shipping, due to the unique size of some of the pieces I will go with whoever is the least expensive. Depending on the piece I might have to custom build a shipping container to make sure its safe during shipping but rest assured I do everything possible to package my pieces safely and securely.

If something is damaged in transit please contact me within 3 days of delivery and provide pictures so I can start a claim with the shippers, every piece is fully insured so you will receive full reimbursement but you do need to notify me within 3 days.

Once payment is received I try to get the piece shipped within 2 days, if a piece needs a more secure container I will inform you so you know the reason for the delay.
I can expedite if requested but otherwise pieces are shipped standard mail.
Refunds and Exchanges
I normally won't do refunds on purchased or reserved items, if something is damaged during shipping I'll work with you and the shipping company to get you reimbursed if possible.

With the bows I offer a one month warranty, because a number of factors outside my control including, overdrawing, improper stringing, improper storage (near heat vents or in unheated garages) just to name a few, I can only guarantee that when shipped the bow had preformed perfectly, shooting numerous arrows down range with no issues.
