God has blessed me with three daughters and 15 grandchildren, and hopefully more grandchildren to come! I wanted each of them to have something special and unique that they could cherish, not just another piece-of-junk-made-in-China-toy-from-Walmart that would soon be forgotten or accidentally crushed underfoot. I have been crafting as far back as I can remember, as a kid.

I rely on the intercession of the Saints to get me through each day. (Why toil alone when a multitude of saints who can see you and the face of God at the same time are always ready and willing to help you through any struggle, no matter how small?) The Communion of Saints!

What a wonderful gift from God! We are one big family - praying for each other, building each other up, and reminding one another that our destination is Heaven. Each person in Heaven is our brother or sister in Christ; praying for us to make the right decisions on earth so we can one day join them in Heaven forever!

Some how, Our Blessed Mother inspired me to design and sew saint dolls to spread devotion to them. So I started sewing saint dolls for my grandchildren, and taught them about their saint and why he/she was special, and how they intercede for us. My grandchildren loved their saints. They played with them and slept with them. Before long, I was making them for their friends.

I like to think about each saint and pray to them while cutting out the patterns and stitching them together, and I ask the particular saint in Heaven to intercede for whoever receives this little special doll.

Now, my grandchildren help me cut out the patterns, and though they are all still young, I hope that at least one of them will continue making HuggieSaints after I leave this world and join my friends in Heaven.

I have heard of so many blessings from people who have purchased or received my dolls, it just inspires me to sew more!
