Soy una madre que se queda en casa de dos niños hermosos y bastante bulliciosos. La mayoría de mis mejores ideas provienen de ellos, y de la necesidad de mantenerlos ocupados. El concepto de esta tienda se basa en el juego de simulación. Algo que perdemos de vista en lugar de la televisión. He descubierto que a mis dos hijos les encanta vestirse y convertirse en otra cosa. Lo he alentado creando nuestros propios disfraces. Pueden convertirse en otra persona, en un tiempo diferente, en un lugar diferente.
Dejé mi trabajo una vez que tuve a mi primera hija porque simplemente no podía ponerla en la guardería. Fui gerente y diseñadora gráfica en una empresa de serigrafía y bordado durante más de una década. Me encantó la parte creativa de mi trabajo y me la perdí cuando me fui. Durante un tiempo tuve una línea de ropa para niñas pequeñas, ¡pero la competencia es dura! Así que moví la vista.
Mis hijos crecían y empecé a jugar con ideas de disfraces. Mi hermana y yo también somos pintores de caras... ¿Puedes ver a dónde conduce esto? Un año, muchos de los niños tenían alergias y no podían pintarse la cara. Los vi ver cómo no podían participar. ¿Qué tipo de diversión es esa? Así que al año siguiente hice algunas máscaras simples y las puse a la venta fuera de mi cabina de pintura facial junto con algunas coronas de princesas. Me agoté. Y nació una idea.
Cuando mi hija era pequeña, le gustaba ir a nuestro patio trasero para construir casas de hadas. Comenzaron bastante simples y pronto escalaron a increíbles. Lo que más le gustaba hacer era "ir a cazar hadas". No fue difícil encontrar un nombre para mi tienda allí en ETSY.
Soy una máquina de trabajo de una sola mujer. Me cuesta trabajar más rápido ya que soy una persona orientada a los detalles. A cada pieza que hago se le presta especial atención a cada aspecto de la misma. Creo que se nota en mi trabajo. Mis ruedas siempre están girando. Las ideas se arrastran sobre mí todo el tiempo. ¿Mi única queja sobre este maravilloso trabajo que he creado para mí? ¡Nunca hay tiempo suficiente! I am a stay at home mother to two beautiful and rather rambunctious children. Most of my best ideas come from them, and from the need to keep them occupied. The concept of this shop is based on pretend play. Something that we lose sight of in lieu of the television. I've found that both my children love to dress up and become something else. I've encouraged it by creating our own costumes. They can become someone else, in a different time, in a different place.
I left my job once I had my first child because I just couldn’t put her in daycare. I was the manager and a graphic designer at a screen printing and embroidery company for over a decade. I loved the creative part of my job and missed it when I left. For a while I had a clothing line for little girls, but the competition is tough! So I moved my sights.
My kids were getting older and I started to play with dress up ideas. My sister and I are also face painters…can you see where this is leading? One year so many of the children had allergies and couldn’t have their faces painted. I watched them look on not being able to participate. What kind of fun is that? So the following year I made some simple masks and put them up for sale outside my face painting booth along with some princess crowns. I sold out. And an idea was born.
When my daughter was little she used to like going into our back yard to build fairy houses. They started off fairly simple and soon escalated to amazing. Her favorite thing to do was to “go hunting faeries.” It wasn’t hard to find a name for my shop there on ETSY.
I am a one woman working machine. I have a hard time working faster as I am a detail orientated person. Each piece I make is given special attention to every aspect of it. I think it shows in my work. My wheels are always turning. Ideas creep up on me all the time. My only complaint about this wonderful job I have created for myself? There is never enough time!
