If you need to contact us, please reach us through Etsy Conversation - Etsy's messaging service! We check out messages here daily. However, we do not check our emails daily, as we have multiple accounts to manage, so if you are trying to reach us at the shop's email address, your message may get buried in a backlog.

At Hyacinth Vintage we're pleased to offer you an eclectic assortment of vintage and antique clothing and items for your home.

All clothing measurements are taken flat (and doubled where appropriate, e.g. waist, bust, hips). Please double-check your sizing before you order, and allow a little extra room for breathing.

All our items are cleaned, unless noted in the listing. We make great effort to note any flaws or imperfections, but please keep in mind that these items are old, and therefore usually have some general wear!

IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ: Canada Post does NOT allow for insurance on GLASS or CERAMIC items. In our listings, we note any flaws or wear to these items, and we do our best to package them securely. However, WE CANNOT ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY FOR glass or ceramic items damaged by the postal service or customs during shipping.

We are reasonable people and do want you to be happy with your purchase. If your item has been damaged please send us a message by Conversation, and we will try to work with you to come up with a solution. Any claims of damage must be accompanied by photos or return of the item to us.

ALSO, PLEASE NOTE: Canada Post shipping rates are typically cost more than those in many other countries. Once an item weighs over 1 kg the price of postage doubles, and so on - that means even if it's 10g over, which can sometimes happen when we package our items in efforts to keep them safe during shipping. If the postage rate somehow increases because of packaging we will contact you by Conversation to see if you are willing to pay additional postage or would prefer to cancel the sale.

Payment

We accept payment through PayPal. Don't have a PayPal account? You can still use it to pay securely with your credit card.

It's best if you pay during the checkout process, but if for some reason you click out before completing the process, please pay within 24 hours. If you're having difficulties please send us a message so we know what's going on - we can hold the item for a few days for you. If we haven't heard from you or received payment we'll cancel the order and relist the item after 24 hours.

Shipping

Please check your messages within 24 hours of making a purchase, as we always send a confirmation note, and sometimes we ask questions if we need to confirm some information. If we do not receive a reply that can cause small delays in shipping.

Items ship after payment is received. We try to ship on Tuesdays and Fridays, through Canada Post.

We will ship to the address on your Etsy account. If you want it to go elsewhere tell us in Notes to Seller during the checkout process.

Shipping costs include postage as well as packaging materials. We do offer reduced combined shipping on purchases of multiple items. However, please be aware that Canada Post assesses its rates by both weight and size, so while a bigger heavier package of multiple items might cost less than a couple of smaller packages, it might not be significantly lower.

Most items will go to the US as Small Package, which does not include a tracking number. If you'd like tracking on your package it will cost a few dollars extra - please contact us for details.

Most items to Canada will ship as Parcel, which does include a tracking number, though some may ship as Oversize Letter, which does not.

Please be aware we are not responsible for items lost by the postal service. If you would like to purchase insurance on your package please contact us. Again, please note: we are simply unable to insure glass or ceramic items. Buyer is responsible for any customs fees.

We'll give you an estimate of how long shipping should take, but please allow time for your package to arrive. If you need the item in a rush let us know and we can look into costs of shipping upgrades.

We do ship internationally! Please note: the international shipping costs we have currently listed are generally maximum rates, so shipping costs may be lower to your location. If that is the case we will issue you a refund through PayPal. If you would like an estimate before making your purchase please send us a message through Conversation.

Refunds and Exchanges

As mentioned above, we're reasonable people and want you to be happy with your purchase. If there are problems with the item you've purchased PLEASE CONTACT US BY MESSAGE as soon as possible so we can try to work it out. Please double-check your measurements before ordering, as it is a lot of hassle for everyone concerned to deal with returns because of fit! Items must be returned in the same condition they were sent. We do our best to note all the details of an item in our listings, including any significant flaws or imperfections, so if you feel an item has been grossly misrepresented please be in touch so we can sort it out.
