Middle Cove Antiques on the CT shoreline

We started as collectors specializing in all Worlds Fair items. The collection grew into many directions and we needed to start selling to afford our collecting habit. A typical story in the business - first a user then a dealer.

We scour the flea markets, buyout estates and haunt the auction circuits here in New England. Our inventory is constantly changing in the shop and we are now trying Etsy to help us offer smaller items that are easily shipped to the Etsy community.

We just started to add items earlier in December of 2014 so please stop back to look for more unusual and bizarre items.

We also blog at hyperantique and maintain a Facebook site as Hyperantique our alter ego (when we are not being lazy).

We try very hard to describe each item as best as we can. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us and we will try to provide answers to your questions. If there is something that you are looking for but do not see listed, chances are we may have it so it does not hurt to - ask.

Returns and exchange details
All my items are vintage or antique. They've had previous "lives" which may include wear and tear, smoke and pets, or decades of less-than-ideal storage. We will make our best effort to describe any significant condition issues by words and/or show them via a picture in the listing.

All sales are final once your order has shipped; there are no returns or exchanges. We strongly encourage your questions about any item that we list. We want happy customers!

If you purchased insurance or the shipping method included insurance:

You are responsible for insuring your package. If you want to insure the package please contact us before the order ships.

Damage: We take the utmost care packaging items, but accidents do occasionally occur during transit. If your order arrives damaged, please let us know right away so that we can file an insurance claim (if applicable - you must purchase insurance in most cases unless the shipping method includes insurance in it's price. Most shipments are not covered by insurance unless you purchase insurance). You must save both the damaged item and its packaging until the claim is complete. A claim may also require you to fill out a short online form and/or provide pictures of the damage.

Loss: Packages are considered lost in transit after 21 days (USA) or 45 days(international). If your order has not arrived in this timeframe, please let us know right away so we can file an insurance claim. A claim may require you to fill out a short online form.

Address Errors: Buyers are responsible for supplying a complete, accurate, and current address at the time of purchase; postage is printed directly on Etsy using the address exactly as you've provided it. If your package is returned to sender due to an incorrect/incomplete address, you may choose to either pay for reshipment or receive a refund for the item's purchase price only. We cannot refund orders that are lost or misdelivered due to address errors.

For items of value you should consider buying insurance. Please contact us in advance of shipping should you wish to purchase shipping insurance.
Payment
We accept all major credit cards, Paypal, and Etsy gift cards.

Orders shipped to Connecticut addresses are subject to 6.35% sales tax on both the item price and shipping costs.
Shipping
We will make our best efforts to process and ship as soon as we are aware of the order. We will only ship after payment has been received. We try to get item to the shipper one to two days after the order is processed.

UPDATE during these trying times we will only ship via USPS contactless pickup. What this means to you; A package ordered will pack and ship via a USPS pickup. This may add a day as USPS only picks up the day following the packing and processing of the order. Additionally, we only have access to the post office Monday through Friday and Saturday until 12:00 PM EST. This means that items ordered Monday through Thursday are usually picked up Tuesday through Saturday. Orders That come in on Friday through Sunday will usually ship on Monday.

Most orders are shipped 1-2 business days after your payment has cleared. Large or unusually shaped items may take an additional day.

All shipping rates are calculated based on the weight and dimensions of the packaged item. Because we do not prepackage each item prior to shipping there are times when we lose money on shipping. Other times (rarely) we come out a little ahead. If the shipping cost is much less than that estimated by the system, we will (at our discretion) upgrade to a faster shipping method (if possible).

Estimated delivery times are based on information given by the USPS and do not include our processing time. The USPS does not guarantee transit times, so we cannot promise that a package will arrive by a certain date.

Insurance - please read
PLEASE NOTE: We are NOT responsible for lost, stolen, or undelivered packages, If you want to purchase insurance you may do so by contacting us prior to ordering. ALL LOST,STOLLEN, OR RETURNED packages paid without insurance are the responsibility of the buyer. USPS failures are not our fault or a reflection on our level of dedication to our customers.

International Customers
You are responsible for any additional taxes, duty, or Customs fees charged by your government. In accordance with the law, we cannot undervalue items on the Customs form, nor can we mark them as gifts.

We reserve the right to cancel international orders if the item is prohibited by your country or if we cannot obtain insurance.

Freight Forwarders or Mail Forwarders
We will not ship to addresses that are not verified by the USPS (US Postal Service). We check addresses that are going to freight or mail forwarders and if they show up as scammer addresses. If the USPS will not guarantee delivery to the end recipient we will cancel the order. Sorry no exceptions.
