Cute concept and great interaction with the seller. She was able to get it to me quickly and very accommodating. The only issue was there was some lacquer on the other letter side of the piece.

My Creative Outlet

HyperspaceHippo's Beaded Creations began as a hobby to save my sanity when I was out of work. I sat down with some beads and a how-to book, and with some help from my then-boyfriend (now-husband, and his experience with wire art) I began creating earrings for friends. I became hooked on beading very quickly.

Since then, I've branched out a little bit. I use stones, crystals, pearls, and wire. In addition to bracelets and necklaces, I create resin pendants that incorporate either my own photos or Japanese paper designs. I also make very special beaded bookmarks! I do my best to make each of my designs a little bit different than the last. It's important to me to make my necklace and bracelet designs expandable to fit a variety of sizes. With permission, I've added some old photos taken by my father to my line of resin pendants, as well.

HyperspaceHippo's Beaded Creations has become a true family project. My husband helps me perfect my wire technique, tweak my photographs, and get things to the post office. He has even created a couple of pendant designs that have been added the shop! My parents, sister and friends both inspire and help critique my designs. A great friend even designed my logo! And of course, there are two cats occupying my pet-friendly 'studio' and, well, helping in their own special way.

To make a long story short: My 'studio' is just a corner of my desk, this is still 'just' a hobby, and I don't ever have as much time for it as I'd like, but HyperspaceHippo's Beaded Creations is a huge part of me! I hope you like what you see!

Creating jewelry is my favorite way to de-stress. I love creating unique designs, taking photos for my resin pendants, and creating special pieces for friends and family. I also love matching people and cats at my local shelter!

Biting on samples of chain is my most important job as Quality Control Inspector. Now we know which ones will stand up to normal wear and tear! My second most important job here is Chief Lap-Sitter. I also tweet.

I am always hard at work knocking things to the floor with paws or long floofy tail-need I say more?

International shipping:
For bookmarks: I now have standard prices listed for the US, Canada and "everywhere else" to accommodate people from all over the world.
For jewelry items, please convo me to discuss shipping if I do not have your country listed, and I will be happy to discuss shipping costs & restrictions for your country. I am currently in the process of adding standard prices for international shipping. Many countries have restrictions/rules for jewelry items. Thank you for your patience!

In the case of international sales, you (the buyer) are responsible for any additional taxes, fees or duties that may be charged at customs or upon entering your country. Please do not order any item that is restricted/prohibited from shipping into your country. Feel free to convo me if you have questions about this. I fill out all customs forms truthfully, and will not mark your item as a gift.

I make every effort to ship your item within 2-3 business days of receiving notification of payment. If there is a delay, you will be informed promptly.

Shipping method (International/Domestic):
Items are shipped by USPS first class mail. Please convo me before purchase to discuss cost if you need an item shipped by some other method. I do not generally insure shipments. If you would like insurance or other mailing services, please convo me to discuss the cost.

As part of my attempt to be more 'green,' all my finished pieces will be packaged in repurposed tissue paper or wrapping paper with decorative tape. They are then mailed in a padded envelope to prevent damage. If you would prefer that your item be packed in a gift box, please see my gift box section to purchase a gift box in your preferred style: http://www.etsy.com/shop/HyperspaceHippo?section_id=7458199 Destash items will be packaged as appropriate.
Refunds and Exchanges
If you are unsatisfied with your purchase please convo me to discuss what may be possible before mailing anything to me. Many of my pieces are one of a kind, and I may or may not have the materials available to recreate an item. Returns will be accepted in the case of items that are damaged when you receive them. In some cases it may be possible for me to repair a damaged item for you.

Returns or exchanges must be agreed upon before you ship your item to me. The customer is responsible for the cost of return shipping. In the case of refunds, I will refund the item price, EXCLUDING the original shipping cost, via your original payment method or (if you prefer) in the form of store credit.
Additional policies and FAQs
Adjustable pieces:

I include an 'extender chain' in most of my necklace and bracelet designs in an effort to ensure they will fit a range of sizes. Please convo me if you have fallen in love with a piece but will need a different size. I may be able to adjust or recreate the item for you.

Special Requests and Custom Orders:

I occasionally take requests for custom creations (often modifications of current designs, or recreations of the same design in different colors, etc.) Because of the time and effort involved in creating something specially for you, including the purchase of additional supplies, it is my policy to request payment in advance for most custom orders. If you are interested, you can contact me via an etsy message to discuss any details and my availability to do the work at that time

I'm also happy to discuss requests or questions you may have about modifying any existing piece that you're interested in. The modifications that can be made depend on both the piece and the supplies I have on hand. I may be able to change the size of a necklace or bracelet (usually by changing the length of an extender chain) or the type of clasp used. With earrings, I may be able to switch the earwires if you need clip-ons or you cannot wear sterling silver earwires. Again, just send me an etsy 'convo' to discuss any special requests you may have. I would be happy to discuss your needs and the possibilities with you.

Eco-friendly Efforts:

I re-use padded envelopes to mail some of my pieces, as long the envelopes are in good condition. As noted above, I also repurpose extra and used wrapping paper and sometimes tissue paper in my inner packaging. I make an effort to purchase sterling silver wire from suppliers like Monsterslayer.com and Rio Grande who state that they use recycled and reclaimed silver when possible. I also collect my scrap silver to be recycled by one of these companies when I get a large enough amount together!

Sales Tax:
I will now be collecting sales tax for sales in Massachusetts only.
