Designer Fascinators & Hats That Bring Out The Unicorn Within

Oh hi there!

We're sisters who own a New Zealand-based millinery label designing contemporary fascinators, headpieces, hats & accessories for women across the globe.

We've been going to race days all over the world since before we could walk and have grown up making our fascinators & headpieces for both ourselves - and our friends - to wear to them.

With fashion, fine arts, PR & racing marketing in our career backgrounds, you'd think we could have started SHOW PONY earlier than 2016. However, life got in the way and we spent a number of years caught up in corporate careers or raising young families.

It wasn't until we found ourselves sharing in a watershed moment over a glass of champagne earlier this year - after one of us had beaten aggressive bladder cancer and the other had got to a crossroads in life - that we made the decision to follow our dreams and start up our business.

For us, it was high time we had some fun in life and if we could inject some of it into the lives of others, then that was even better!

Over the past couple of years, our designs have been worn at major international racing events including the Kentucky Derby, Royal Ascot and Melbourne Cup Carnival, but also to many weddings & parties too.

Each piece is handcrafted by us out of our studio in New Zealand to the backdrop of lively music & much laughter... with plenty of green tea (or champagne!) to wash it all down.

We hope that when you wear something by SHOW PONY Millinery, it brings out the unicorn within.

Returns and exchanges
As our products are designed to be worn on people's heads, we sadly cannot offer refunds, returns or exchanges.

We are not responsible for lost, delayed or damaged items once they have been dispatched from our studio and entrusted with our shipping provider. We provide proof of 'dispatch' via post office receipts & item tracking numbers for all items purchased from Wednesday 8 June 2016 - any items purchased prior to that date and shipped via 'International Air' will not have tracking numbers.

New Zealand Post offer a compensation service for missing or damaged items and it is up to the buyer to manage any such claims.
Payment
Payment is due at the time of the order via PayPal, credit card or bank deposit.

An item becomes yours the minute payment has been received - and from that time, order cancellations do not apply.

Insurance is not included, however if you would like this added please let us know so we can arrange & inform you of any additional charges.

As the customer, you are responsible for any duties, customs charges and/or taxes levied at the point of entry into the destination country.
Shipping
As soon we receive your payment, we will handcraft, package & dispatch your item within the 'processing time' specified on its listing.

'Delivery times' are delivery targets outlined by our shipping provider - New Zealand Post. They are ESTIMATES ONLY and not guarantees. Find out more in FAQs below.

As the buyer, you are responsible for assuring that the products you purchase can be lawfully imported to the destination country, the recipient is the importer of record and must comply with all laws and regulations of the destination country.
Additional policies and FAQs
Trust us when we say our creations look great! However, please note that for various reasons (such as screen / monitor resolution), colours may vary from 'actual' and there may also be some variations due to suppliers' fabric batches, dye lots or individual elements such as feathers & quills that might be used.

If you are unsure about colour - please message us before purchase & we can send through additional photographs of fascinator elements in varying lights to help show a more true colour.

In addition, due to the nature of the materials used in millinery & the fact our pieces are handmade, there may be small imperfections in finished products.

Because our designs are hand-crafted to order, there may also be slight variations in style from what is pictured on our Etsy page, website or social media accounts.

None of the above 'issues' are classed as faulty or a defect.

However, we will not send a hat we would not wear ourselves (so you can rest assured you'll still get a fantastic piece).

We're very happy to make changes to existing designs or create something just for you. Message us to chat further.

How long does it take to make a fascinator?

The time we need to prepare an order for shipping varies. For details, see 'processing times' under individual items. In some cases, we may be able to make a piece within a shorter timeframe depending on which colours or elements are chosen.

These times are in addition to estimated shipping times.

If your requirements are more urgent, please contact us before you make your purchase as it may be possible to accommodate a 'rush order' (though we cannot guarantee delivery times). There may be an additional 10% charge for a 'rush order'.

Can you tell me more about estimated shipping times?

New Zealand Post is our shipping provider - they are our national carrier and have an excellent reputation, working with well-known international shipping companies to deliver goods across the world. They are also the lowest-cost option we have available in New Zealand.

While you can expect that your item will usually arrive at its destination within the timeframe, because New Zealand Post doesn't directly control all parts of the delivery chain, they cannot guarantee that it will always reach its destination within their delivery target. We suggest ordering items well in advance.

Delivery to areas outside major cities, or where your item is dutiable or is held in Customs, may take longer.

"International Courier": 2-7 working day delivery target depending on destination; PO Box delivery available to selected destinations only (otherwise to door); signature upon delivery required; online tracking. Contact us if you require an Express Courier quote.

NEW ZEALAND-BASED ORDERS:
Items are sent via tracked Parcel Post unless a courier upgrade is selected. Parcel Post has an estimated delivery target of up to three working days to major towns & cities. Couriers have a 'next working day' delivery target to major towns & cities. We offer rural and Saturday delivery courier options.
