Note from shop owner Hi! Welcome to Ian's Café. Things might look a little bare around here, but never fear! I'm taking a little time off from crafting bookmarks and other doodads to pursue some other interests for a bit. But never fear! Ian's Café will be back this summer!

About

It's all about defining imagination.

Feathers. Lots of feathers. I liked the smell, the texture, the feel of the feathers as I wiped them across my face. Sure, it may sound odd, but as a 10-year-old boy with $2 in his pocket, feathers were my world. The ole fashioned trading post in my small southern Illinois town sold feathers, loose ones, all varieties, and in so many colors.

I'd buy as many as I could and take them home. I spent hours counting them, lining them up, and imagining what could be. I'd take glue, glitter, anything really, and make elaborate masks. Well, as elaborate as a boy of ten can be.

As life continued, I'd pick up glue guns, pencils, paint brushes, freeing my mind to use my artistic expression. About 20 years ago, I discovered polymer clay. I loved this versatile and vibrant medium, and I continue to sculpt with it to this day.

Sure, my talents have morphed into something less childlike and more professional, but my love will always be with sculpting. In my hands, and with my select tools, a lump of clay can become a misshapen doll, a pair of wicked witch legs, or an ornament.

I loved to share my talent as a gift to family and friends, and now I can share myself with the world, thanks to Etsy!

I've been creating for as long as I can remember. Anything and everything is a blank canvas. A little paint here, a little glitter there, and voila!
