Note from shop owner Hi, thanks for visiting! The shop is currently CLOSED through the end of 2015. I am doing too many shows to guarantee items aren't sold at the same time you place an order, and the before-Christmas shipping deadline is upon us.

I look forward to offering a variety of beautiful, affordable art items to you in the new year! Please come back and visit in January. Feel free to drop me a conversation message, and I will be happy to answer any questions, and if you like, notify you directly when the shop re-opens.

warm wishes for happy holidays,
Holly

Freaking fabulous. I've already sent one card and gotten immediate compliments.

These cards are beautiful and very professionally done. Paper quality, art and print quality are all top drawer. Hallmark can't top these! Do you offer other items with your art on them?

Quick shipping, awesome notecards and artistic touch on the packaging, too. Very much looking forward to sending the cards and seeing what IdMarks comes up with next :)

About

We all need things, but there's no reason those things have to be boring.

Hi, my name is Holly. (Hi Holly!) I'm a compulsive embellisher.

Any kind of aesthetic enhancement interests me. All the way back to childhood, I was super excited about wrapping paper, ribbons, cursive writing (serifs!), culinary garnishes, and anything else that makes things more interesting to look at. Along the way, I also got really keen on more complex embellishments: printed patterns, scrollwork of any kind, tattoos, celtic knots, stained glass, wood grain, and any combination of these things.

It took me a long time to realize that making the world a little bit fancier is my calling in life, but as they say, better late than never. You can read more about my influences and bio on my web page, www.ornatelier.com, but for our common purpose here on Etsy, the important thing to know is this:

We all need beauty and ornament in our lives. It is a human instinct to enhance and personalize. The desire to have objects of aesthetic pleasure in our lives is not an indulgence — it's a basic need.

Hi! Welcome to my shop.

This is where I put things I have made, because if I keep them all, I won't have space to put new things, nor money to buy new supplies. The moral of this story is, the more things you buy, the more things will appear here in the shop.

If you see something that is close to, but not quite exactly, what you are looking for, drop me a line. Maybe I have or can make something more suitable.

Feel free to write to me and tell me what you think of my stuff. You don't have to buy it to have an opinion. I welcome feedback, even if it is a criticism.

Thanks for stopping in. Come again later to see new things, or favorite my shop to get my latest items right on your Activity feed.

Payment
When your payment is confirmed, I will ship the item to you. If your payment doesn't show up, I will wait a bit and then prod you gently. Unless you have explicitly made an arrangement to pay later, any order unpaid 48 hours after it is placed will be canceled.

That is for items in stock. For custom orders, the work does not begin until I have received payment.
Shipping
Think of shipping options as a triangle. At one corner is COST, another corner is SPEED, and the third corner is HANDLING. For any given shipping project, there is a sweet spot within this triangle. The lowest cost shipping method is generally what I calculate for, because that is what most people want, and it is mostly going to be USPS standard post. However, if you need something faster, or if it is fragile, or you really, really like your UPS driver, let me know and I will recalculate for your order.

I try to ship within 1 business day, but if that isn't going to happen for some reason, I will let you know as soon as I know.

To get your item as fast as possible, please always verify that your address is correct when you place an order, and if there are special considerations, that you tell me before I drop it off at the post office. (eg: you want to sign for it, pick up at the P.O., or iI should put a note to let the delivery person know the item should be left on the screen porch...)

If you make a request that will affect the cost of shipping, I will cancel your order, add the shipping option you are looking for to the item listing, and then send you a note to let you know that you can now make the purchase with your desired options. This applies for all kinds of money-cost shipping upgrades, as well as international shipping.
Refunds and Exchanges
Please read item descriptions carefully, and review the images thoroughly. Ask questions BEFORE ordering! If you want more photos, I will get you more photos. If you have concerns, ask me, and I will address them.

If you want a refund, contact me and we'll talk about it. Replacement and exchange are other viable options, and we can sort out the best way to get to happy. In a sales transaction, happy *usually* means one party gets money and the other gets an item, but if that won't work, let's find another way.

Although positive customer feedback (which hopefully indicates a happy customer!) is very important to me, please be aware that I don't negotiate with feedback bullies. A feedback bully is a message that says "Give me a refund or I'll give you a negative rating!" and I will not take that too kindly. I'd rather get a negative feedback than submit to a bully.

On custom or commissioned order, it is very unlikely that I will give a refund. However, I will do my best to make sure you know what you are getting before you pay, so there won't be any reason for you to want a refund.
Additional policies and FAQs
More info to come here in the future, but for now, I'll just say this: I have an open inbox policy. Ask me, tell me, whatever you need to do.
