Love the ikat, love the pink color. I've been wearing it as a spring scarf for several weeks.

About

Colorful ikats and hand crafted goods for you and your home

Uzbekistan is a country with a rich heritage and vibrant culture. Ikatland brings the best products from Uzbek craftsmen that make ourstanding ceramics, accessories and ikats in Asia.

The idea of an Ikatland came out of the passion for collecting Uzbek art pieces in 2010, when I started working at Human House, the trendy boutique in Central Asia. It carries more than thousand pieces from the most promising designers to the most renowned craftsmen who are manufacturing their goods for seven generations – everything hand made. As an art manager she had to deal with all sorts of arts and crafts like ceramics, block printed accessories, hand woven ikats, and embroidery…

I was amazed that ceramists still make their pottery from a clay they get at their backyards, ikats are woven on those wood machines in a small town called Margilan and suzanis are embroidered in a rural areas by the groups of women.

The idea of creating Ikatland came out of the aspiration to share this astonishing beauty of the hand made pieces that are crafted with passion and excellent workmanship. As I traveled through Uzbekistan more and more and discovered amazing crafts, I decided to run a small shop, which is intended to be a soul kitchen of my own.

Most of the things sold by Ikatland are unique and eco friendly. It is a heritage of the past centuries when the craftsmen took care of the earth and used only natural materials to make their products.
