#IllGoWithYou was conceived in March 2015 by a group of friends in the LGBTQ+ community who wanted to give allies a way to help witness and advocate for trans folks in gendered spaces.

One of the organizers of #IllGoWithYou was already designing & making buttons for friends and relatives, as a hobby, so they were naturally tapped to design and make the buttons going forward... thus Button Button was officially created alongside #IllGoWithYou, as a means of getting I'll Go With You buttons + other advocacy beacons into the world and to make sure sales of #IllGoWithYou items were all legit and proceeds could be used to keep the advocacy going.

Since 2015, Button Button has shipped over 600,000 buttons and other #IllGoWithYou beacons (pins, lanyards, keychains, stickers, and patches), with the vast bulk of the sales taking place through the Button Button website. Button Button is not a profitable business and has been operating at a loss for years, as the sole focus of I'll Go With You is education and advocacy, so your support is always greatly appreciated!

Button Button sales go toward covering overhead costs for making/shipping buttons, the cost of providing buttons at low-cost or for free to student groups and other ally organizations, and are also donated toward nonprofit organizations directly benefiting members of the trans and autistic communities community (i.e. Trans Lifeline, The Little Petal Alliance, Autistic Women & Nonbinary Network, etc.) through the sales of specific fundraising items.

Button Button made the official #IllGoWithYou buttons available on Etsy about 4-5 years ago, but the high fees made it nearly impossible to sustainably continue selling on Etsy at reasonable prices, so we took a break and stuck to the Button Button website until recently...

Due to an influx of requests from the community over the last year, the buttons and other items are once again available via our Etsy shop (despite the fees still being unreasonably high and causing prices on Etsy to be higher than sellers' official websites *wink wink nudge nudge*)... and all Etsy orders will arrive to your door along with a discount code for future orders made directly through the Button Button website and sometimes even some extra goodies! :)
